20 MAGYAR EGYHÁZ DETROIT-ALLEN PARK, Thanksgiving Eve Services will be held on November 26, 7:30 P.M. The Senior Youth Fellowship will hold their Pre-Christmas Card Party on December 2 at 7 P.M. The Sunday School children will present their Christmas Program on December 21. DUQUESNE, PA. Funerals: Mrs. Emma Szász, on September 23rd, Alex Kish on Octo­ber 3rd. Both members’ interment was in our cemetery. The Sunday School sponsored a Halloween Party for our youngsters on October 24th. Our Hungarian assistant elder, Mi­chael Beres and his wife celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary the same day of our mortgage burning, at our banquet. Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Urban celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary in September. Thanksgiving Communion will be celebrated on November 23rd. McKeesport, pa. 146 members received the holy elements on World Wide Communion Sunday in church, one member in the hospital. Baptism: Robert Douglas, son of Robert Bereczky and his wife, Rose Callahan. God-parents: Mr. and Mrs. Duane Harpster, Lincoln Place. New member: Gabor Szotak from Bodzasujlak, Hungary. Funeral: Alexander Dobos, age 78, Nicholas Toth, age 75, in Weirton, W. Va.; born in Pusztafalu, he was a member of our church in the 30’s. — Mrs. Leslie Kovács, age 76, born in Mek, Szatmar county. — Grave­stone dedication for Kalman Balogh, former church-council man, October 9. The Rt. Rev. Bishop Dezső Abra­ham, preached in our church at both services on October 12th. Bishop Ab­raham, Dean Tibor Toth, and Charles Kiss, chief elder of the Diocese visited the congregation and discussed cur­rent matters with the officers. 24 members of our church attended the mortgage burning ceremonies of the Duquesne congregation. The Sunday School and the Youth Fellowship sponsored a Halloween Party. Our bazaar was held on November 2nd. Thanksgiving communion will be celebrated on November 23rd, pro­ceeded by the usual penitential wor­ship services. On Thanksgiving Day, as in the past, our college students will con­duct the worship service. The pastor of the church will preach at the Hungarian Service. PERTH AMBOY, N. J. The Eastern Area C.Y.F. Conference was held in our Center on Sunday, November 16th. The Inter-Guild Social of the area Women’s Guilds took place in our Center on Tuesday, October 21st: approximately 100 delegates gathered together from far and near. Our Annual Thanksgiving Dinner will be held on Sunday, November 23rd at 6:00 P.M. in our Center. At that time, the dedication of the Sun­day School Chapel and other memo­rials will take place. On Thanksgiving Day, November 27th, at 9:00 A.M. a divine worship service will be held. The Annual Bazaar sponsored by our Women’s Guild is scheduled to begin at noon in our Center on De­cember 7th. On Worldwide Communion Sunday both of our worship services were well attended and about 80% of the membership lived with the elements of the Lord’s Supper. May God help us to repeat this act each and every time Christ calls to the Lord’s Table. Our Sunday School is held every Sunday at 9:00 a.m. It is a deep con­cern of our church to give the best Christian Education to our children and young people because we believe that this is the only way to raise fine and faithful members for our church. For years, we have been using the Covenant Life Curriculum as our ma­terial. The Covenant Life Curriculum teaches the Bible, the history of the Church and the Christian life. It helps man to find the courage to live faith­fully in Christ. It presents the Re­formed Christian faith. Our teachers are: Mrs. George Bordash, superin­tendent, Mrs. Eugene Trainor, Mrs. Joseph Bartha, Miss Dorlinda Varga and Miss Kathleen Bartha. There are 33 children enrolled and 30 of them attend regularly. Nine women and two men attended the Inter-Guild Social of our sister church in Perth Amboy. We all en­joyed the program and shared in the fellowship of old and new friends. Thanks for the delicious refresh­ments. We are deeply grateful to those faithful ones who are dedicating their talents and services to God’s glory and for the benefit of our church. Thanks to those who supported the stuffed cabbage and cake sales of our ladies with their generous contribu­tions. The Community Thanksgiving Worship Service will be held on Sun­day, November 23 at the Presbyterian Church of Bustletown. Our congrega­tion will gather together for thanks­giving on Thursday, November 27. STATEN ISLAND, N. Y. “New Wine” Communion was cele­brated on November 16. We offered a thanksgiving prayer for our former chief elder, Joseph Doch and his wife at their 51st wed­ding anniversary. The Annual Bazaar yielded a net income of $1133 which proves the generosity of the donors and gives credit to the untiring co-workers. Died: William Kish, 37, son of one of our oldest church members. — Also Alexander Pap, 81, husband of an­other of our oldest church members. May our Lord grant them heavenly peace. YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO On October 12th 35 members of our congregation took part at the mortgage burning celebration in Du­quesne. The Rev. Alexander Daroczy, Di­rector of Bethlen Home, preached at the English and Hungarian Orphan­age Services on October 26th. On November 16th, after a com­bined service the annual Elizabeth Day dinner was held. As in the past, this year again Mrs. Adam Hohvart and her son, James Hohvart donated everything toward the dinner. Many thanks. Our Youth Group, with the help of the members of our congregation pre­sented 3 food baskets to three needy families for Thanksgiving Day. Kenneth Vantell, the son of our English chief elder returned after a year of service in Vietnam. Baptism: October 12th, Michael Scott, son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Mrakovich; godparents: George Vrat­­kovich and Miss Linda Balas.
