16 MAGYAR EGYHÁZ at 10 a.m., Hungarian Worship Service at 11 a.m. Confirmation classes will start September 20. This time we shall have 4 confirmands for the 2 year preparatory course. We shall observe World Wide Communion on Sunday, October 12. The Annual Bazaar is the most favorite affair of our people. We plan to have it on two Saturdays, September 27 and October 4. We invite all our members and friends for this joyful affair. Our pastor and Dr. Stephen Szikszay professor at the Theological Seminary in Bangor (Maine) buried Dr. Miklós Foghtűy, 69, in Stapleton. A friend of the deceased, Joseph Patakfalvi Pinke, donated $50 to our church in his loving memory. The needed repair job is progressing well. We ask all our members to donate for this important project. YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO During the month of June we had the parish house painted. Members of our congregation also painted the inside of the Sunday School. Beside this we have planted shrubs before the church and the parish house. Now the outside and inside of our church and Sunday School are once again in beautiful condition. On Sunday, September 7th we will start our regular order of worship: English service at 10 A.M., Hungarian service at 11 A.M. Also, on September 7th we will reconvene our Sunday School. We have Sunday School not only for children but for adults, too, starting at 9 A.M. On July 22nd we buried Mrs. John Potornay and on August 5th Mrs. Frank Seach. God be with the sorrowing families. YOUTH NEWS NATIONAL YOUTH CONFERENCE AUGUST 28 - SEPTEMBER 1 The 1969 B.Y.F. Conference has moved from planning into action. Young people and young adults from Pennsylvania, Michigan. Neiv Jersey. Neiv York, and Ohio are attending the conference this year at Camp Conestoga, Minerva, Ohio. These four days, August 28t/i through September 1st, will be filled with inspiration and relaxation. The two speakers will surely leave valuable impressions and inspiring thoughts about this years topic, “Is My Religion Relevant.” Following their lectures discussion groups will be held and all attending will express their opinions. A get-together dance will be held on Friday to provide a more relaxing atmosphere. Other events which will fill the days are the B.Y.F. Business Meeting, skits, games, swimming, and daily vesper services. Also, Sunday night the “Cherry Pop” will perform for the big dance. An evening candlelight service and the Sunday sunrise service with communion are two very inspirational and memorable portions of the conference. THE B.Y.F. ALUMNI ASSOCIATION Letter to the Editor ... I was quite pleased to receive the Magyar Egyház in the mail today. It was very good ... to find out what has happened to some of our friends from the Bethlen Youth Federation. One article surprised me and rather disappointed me also. I am referring to the open letter about the Alumni Association. The age limit really surprised me. What happens now to those of us that fall in the gap between the B.Y.F. and Alumni Association? With Ron and I both having been as active in B.Y.F., it’s a shame that we can not now join the Alumni Association, which is something we worked for during our B.Y.F. days. Because we are married we no longer feel that we fit into the B.Y.F. group (both of us being out of college, etc.) and still we are not eligible for the Alumni Association either. I’m sure there are numerous other (Ed and Nancy Sadowski for example) who would like to participate but can not. Is there any chance of our doing anything about this age limit? ... Say hello to all for us and God Bless. Sincerely, Linda (Mrs. Ronald) Jensen Pross ☆ (Editor’s note: Linda, Ronald, Nancy and Ed are all between the ages of 22 and 24).
