18 MAGYAR EGYHÁZ NEWS FROM THE CONGREGATIONS AKRON, OHIO Our former pastor, tlie Rev. Stephen Kovács preached at our Mother’s Day worship service. He praised our congregation for the progress we had made during the past two years. “We are living in a time—said Rev. Kovács—when everyone is speaking about the dying Church and the dead God. You proved to the world that God is alive and the Church is alive. You proved this with your faith, love and sacrifice and you became an example for others. Go forward in unity and in peace and you will be able to accomplish miracles in the future.” On May 26th, on a very special congregational meeting we signed the “unity papers.” Thus we became one with the First Hungarian United Church of Christ. We accepted our new members into our fellowship with brotherly love and with true Christian spirit.
