10 MAGYAR EGYHÁZ NEWS FROM THE CONGREGATIONS AKRON The year of 1967 was a year of progress in our church. Spiritually we became adults in faith, in love and in service. Our choir was very active during the year. We also had bible study and prayer meetings. During the year 42 new members joined our congregation. Christmas Day 122 members came to the Lord’s Table. On the financial side, too, we made remarkable progress: our yearly income was over $25,000 and we paid 36 mortgage payments. CARTERET Christmas services were very well attended, the number of participants in Holy Communion, however, (217, 16 shut-ins) should have been much higher. All classes of the Sunday School participated in the Christmas Program on December 17. From donations by the church organizations the children received bible story and prayer books, the confirmands individual bibles, the teachers copies of a theological encyclopedia.
