MAGYAR EGYHÁZ 11 Sewell presented ample background of the consultation (C.O.C.U.) which is taking place among ten denominations. Dr. Sewell gave guidelines along and toward a possible joint cooperation and future re-union of the American Hun­garian Reformed heritage. Our Boy Scout Troop No. 37 was on a weekend outdoor camping trip on June 9, 10, 11. PERTH AMBOY Thanks and appreciation to the teachers of our Daily Vacation Bible School, Mrs. Esther Sorensen, super­intendent, Mrs. Betty Varga assistant, Mrs. Elizabeth Dudich song leader, Mrs. Lillian Bányácski pianist, Mr. Paul Clayton treasurer, also to the eleven teachers and ten assistant teachers. Over 100 children attended vacation school this year. Our new confirmation class will start in September. Parents, please, register your children, if they are 12 years old, or in the 7th grade. Thanks to the Rev. Ernest Mikó, who was our guest minister on July 2nd, and the Rev. August Molnár, for substituting while the pastor was on vacation. Our center will be painted inside and out, also the parsonage; the ceme­tery will receive a new chain link 6 foot high fence. Youth Fellowship meetings during the summer months will be held every week Tuesday and Thursday at 7 P.M. Preparations are under way to go by bus to Detroit, Mich., for the National Youth Conference, September 1-4. The Eastern Area elders had a con­ference in our center, on June 18th. Mr. John Aemesnyik, President of the National Association, and Dr. Sándor Kiss, chief curator of the Hungarian Reformed Church in America led the discussions. Mr. John Marinchák, chief elder of our church was in charge of hospitality and arrangements. Baptisms: Elsie Priscilla Löki, daughter of Louis Löki and Elsie A. STATEN ISLAND Our Golden Anniversary celebrations will be remembered for a long time to come: the Thanksgiving Service conducted by eight guest ministers and attended by many visitors from our sister churches; the banquet which drew a capacity crowd to our hall; the Anniversary Album — but most of all the spirit of real fellowship on this “day of gladness.” We want to revive an old tradition by having a family picnic in the parsonage garden on August 20. It will be preceded by a combined wor­ship service. The repainting of our church hall and of the office have been completed. Thanks to all our co-workers for their untiring effort through many weeks. Burial: Two of our founding mem­bers passed away: Louis Demes, 73, and Charles Beresh, 83. Both served the church as elders, Charles Beresh also chief elder. The Annual Bazaar, sponsored by the Women’s Guild, will be held on two Saturdays, September 30 and October 7. The new president of United Church Women is our Women’s Guild presi­dent, Mrs. John Rodvansky. YOUNGSTOWN 177 persons took communion on Pentecost. This is about 57 percent of our communicant membership. On May 28th, during the English service the Man of the Year award was presented to Gabriel C. Toth, Jr., an elder of the church for his out­standing work during the past year. The picnic for our Sunday School children was held on July 9th, at the Pine View Acres. On July 30th we went to Cleveland by bus and saw a baseball game. On August 13th, after services, we will have a picnic at the Hohvart-iarm. Everyone is invited. YOUTH NEWS DETROIT The B.Y.F. National Conference will be hosted by the Senior Christian Youth Fellowship of Detroit this year. They are in the final stages of plan­ning. The theme is Our Creed and Morality. The deadline for registra­tions is July 31st so everyone please get busy and send in your forms. Dues for the BYF must be in 30 days before or else your voting privileges will be forfeited. Send them to Danny Kovács in Trenton, N. J. The campsite is on beautiful Lake Huron, Camp Edith Cavell. Maps and routes, etc., will be forwarded to the respective youth groups. Four members attended the Western Classis meeting in Duquesne & Mc­Keesport. They had a wonderful time at Kennywood Amusement Park. Az ünnepélyes alkalom után egyházi ebéd volt az újonnan meg­konfirmáltak és az édesanyák tiszte­letére. A pünkösdi istentiszteletek szépen látogatottak voltak. Pünkösdkor megkereszteltük Dénes Steven Anthonyt, Dénes János és Már­ta gyermekét, akinek keresztszülei Pálffy Győző és Ilona lettek. Május 26-án a Dorcas Guild, az angol nőegyleti csoport, sikeres kár­tya partyt rendezett, melynek haszna meghaladta a 300 dollárt. Ezt az összeget az uj vasárnapi iskolai füg­gönyök árához tették hozzá az asszo­nyok. Az ifjúsági csoport két alka­lommal is jól sikerült palacsinta reg­gelit készített. Május 29-án a Márta Kör asszo­nyai születésnapi party keretében em­lékeztek meg a lelkész születésnapjá­ról és megajándékozták az ünnepel­tet. Dr. Bernáth Ottó és családja szép cserjéket adományozott egyházunk­nak templomunk környékének szebbé­­tételére. A Márta Kör 300 dollárt ajándé­kozott egyházunknak. Junius 17-én Henry Cofert a gyü­lekezet nagy részvéte mellett temet­tük el. Junius 30-án megeskettük Kenneth Reichertet és Agnes Olajost, julius elsején pedig Willars Michael Maug­­hant és Marilyn Ann Erdőst. Pálffy Michael és neje 313 dollár értékben hangosan beszélő berende­zést szereltettek be a gyülekezeti te­rembe. Egyházunk félévi bevétele megha­ladta a 10,000 dollárt.
