14 MAGYAR EGYHÁZ We will prepare the Lord’s Supper at three occasion: English Communion Services on December 22 at 7:00 P.M. and on December 25, Christmas Day at 9:30 A.M.; Hungarian Communion Service on December 25 at 11:00 A.M. NILES Elder Ernest C. Nagy, Lay-president of the congregation underwent a major (open heart) surgery in Cleveland Clinic. He is well on his way of recovery. Elder Harold Henninger had a delicate eye operation at the University Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. It was a success and his eye has been saved. Mrs. Julia Lutsky, 80, who has been in failing health for the past two years died in Parkview Nursing Home. Marlene Ziegler and Max McGowan were united in marriage at the church on November 18. John Webster has been elected the new Institutional Representative for our Boy Scout Troop 37 which has been named by the Southern District the most successful church-sponsoredtroop in the year of 1967. Elder Sigmund Kish is the chairman of the sponsoring Committee, Elder Emery Patterson is the successful Scout Master. The Religious Radio Services for the Mahoning and Shenago Valley will get underway on the first Sunday in Advent. The Radio Committee has signed a contract with WPIC, Sharon, Pennsylvania Radio Station which will broadcast our program both in Hungarian and English on FM band 102.9 every Sunday from 7:00 p.m. through 7:30 p.m. Our traditional Christmas Eve candlelight service and Holy Communion will be held on Saturday, December 23 at 7:30 p.m. Christmas caroling will take place during the week. The Young Ladies Auxiliary will hold its Annual Christmas Party at El Rio Restaurant on December 5, and the Annual Family Christmas Dinner at the church on December 10. PERTH AMBOY On December 3, our Annual Bazaar was a successful venture. Thanks to the workers, to those who donated gifts and to those who attended it. The Christmas Eve united service will be held December 24, Sunday at 7:30 P.M. The Christian Youth Fellowship and Choir carolers will visit our church members. Christmas Day, December 25th, worship service with Holy Communion: English at 8:00 A.M., Hungarian at 10:30 A.M.; December 26 Holiday closing service at 10:30 A.M. Albert Elswick will be our “legátus” (holiday assistant). He is a Senior in the New Brunswick Theological Seminary and a member of our Reformed Church in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The New Year’s Eve Dinner Dance will be held in our Center. Obtain your tickets early. ROEBLING Our annual bazaar was a huge success with a profit of $847:95. We thank all the faithful members for their help and cooperation. On Thanksgiving Day many of our members gathered together to thank God for His many blessings He has bestowed upon us during the year. During the Worship Service our Children’s Choir sang “Count Your Blessings.” The annual Mission Sunday of our church was well supported by the attendance, prayers, and mission offerings of our members. In the afternoon we held our first Mission Fellowship. A mission film called “Choose Ye This Day” was shown. We were happy to see many members of our church at the Community Thanksgiving Service held by the Christian Churches of our township. Our pastor said a praver. Some of our children participated in the Community Children’s Choir. The Christmas Party for our Sunday School will be on Sunday, December 17 at 2:00 p.m. Holiday Worship Services: Sunday, December 24 in English at 10:00 a.m., in Hungarian at 11:00 a.m.; Combined bilingual at 7:00 p.m. — Monday, December 25: in English with Holy Communion at 9:00 a.m., in Hungarian with Holy Communion at 10:30 a.m.; Tuesday, December 26: Hungarian Worship Service at 10:00 a.m. — Sunday, December 31: in English at 10:00 a.m.. in Hungarian at 11:00 a.m., combined bilingual at 7:00 p.m. — Monday, January 1: in Hungarian at 10:00 a.m., in English at 11:00 a.m. STATEN ISLAND Thanksgiving Communion was observed and the elements were donated by Mr. and Mrs. Joseph O’Donnell. Thanksgiving service was conducted in both languages and members of our neighboring American Reformed Church were our guests. The Rev. Charles E. Bloodgood delivered the English message. After the worship services' a social hour was held in the Church hall. The Order of Christmas services is as follows: December 17 — Sunday School Christmas Party, December 24 — Christmas Eve Candlelight Service, after the services carolers will visit the homes; December 25, 10 A.M. — English service and communion, at 11 A.M. Hungarian service and communion; December 31, 6:30 P.M. — New Year’s Eve combined services, January 1, 10 A.M. — New Year combined services. YOUNGSTOWN The Rev. Alexander Daroczy preached at the combined Orphanage Sunday Service on November 19th. After the service we held the annual Elizabeth Day dinner. Again this year Mrs. Adam Hohvart and her son James Hohvart donated everything toward the dinner. We thank them for their generosity. Our Christmas services: December 24th, regular services in the morning, Candlelight Service at 7 P.M., December 25th, 9:30 English, 11:00 A.M. Hungarian Service, both with Holy Communion; December 26th, 10:30 Hungarian Service. Before Christmas, as in the past years, our carolers will visit the homes of our church members. Beginning December 3rd our church, with the sister churches of Niles, Warren and Youngstown will sponsor Hungarian Radio Services on WPICFM, Sharon. Pa. (102.9 on your dial). The Radio services will be on every Sunday between 7-7:30 P.M. They will be financed by voluntary donations. Donations should be sent to the pastor. These services will also include regular English sermonettes. On November 11th and 12th, the Youth Group of our church was host to the Western Youth Conference. On November 19th, during the combined service we baptized Brian Neil, son of Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius Adkins, godparents: Mr. and Mrs. Edward Allen; Mr. and Mrs. John Vantell held him for baptism. On October 16th we buried Mrs. Anthony Kali (the former Maria Varga); she was 75 years old and a charter member of our church. YOUTH N EWS CARTERET Frank Papp will be Carteret’s representative on the Executive Board of the Eastern Area Youth Federation. DETROIT Our biggest event of the year will be the Christmas Card Party, to be held on December 7 at 7 p.m. in the church fellowship hall. We have been busily making many beautiful prizes at the workshops that are held at the home of our sponsor, Mrs. Ernest Arvai. Many mothers and church mem-
