MAGYAR EGYHÁZ 11 the Rev. John Botty from Youngstown was the guest speaker. Nine youngsters have been enrolled in the Confirmation Class which is to run for two years in order to give them the proper training for church membership. The community service for the Red Dragons (local football squad which captured the Ohio State Championship a few years ago) was held at this church under the sponsorship of both the Protestant and the Catholic Clergy of Niles. The pastor of the congregation brought the message to the boys and coaches and interested parents filling up the church to capacity. Boy Scout Troop 37 sponsored by our congregation has won the second prize in model exhibition last month. They had built the exact replica of a camping ground with all the details under the leadership of Scoutmaster Emery Patterson. Seven delegates from this church attended the Presbyter’s Conference for the churches of Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio held in Lorain the last Sunday of September. The Coffee Hour and Adult Discussion Group which has been introduced recently as a pilot project, seems to be working out 'fine. Robert Kovach is the discussion leader. The first topic of discussion was “Evolution,” the second was “What God’s Presence Means to Me Personally.” Dr. Sewell attended the Annual Conference of the Hungarian Presbyterian pastors held in New York City. PERTH AMBOY On Sunday, November 12th, there will be a bus excursion from our church to the Central Jersey Evangelistic Crusade in Asbury Park, N. J. The Annual Thanksgiving Banquet will be held on Sunday, November 19th, 6 P.M. Reservation deadline, November 14th. The Women’s Guild’s annual Christmas Bazaar will be held on Sunday, December 3rd. Baptism: Debbie Sue, daughter of Edwin C. Dejjler and Margaret E. Misak. Marriages: Arthur G. Yager and Elaine M. Hermann on September 16th. John Radnai and Julianne Warga on September 30th. ROEBLING Eighty percent of the congregation received the holy elements on World Wide Communion Sunday. The holy elements were donated by Miss Lynn Mayberry in memory of her late grandfathers. The late Mrs. Mary Fazekas left $190 for our church. May God grant her a peaceful rest. The Rev. Barnabas Roczey was elected president of the Florence Township Ministerium. Baptisms: On September 17 Julianna Mary, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Emry; on September 24, James Andrew, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. James Bajzath. STATEN ISLAND The holy elements for World Wide Communion were donated by Mrs. John Hoagland. New Wine Thanksgiving Communion will be on November 19 at both services. We offered a thanksgiving prayer for our former chief elder, Joseph Doch, and his wife at their 49th wedding anniversary. May the Lord grant them many more happy anniversaries. Mrs. Helen Kutko Cutler gave birth to a baby girl. She is the secretary of our Women’s Guild. Guest ministers during the Summer season were the Rev. Louis Molnár, the Rev. Denes Tamas and for the Orphanage Day services the Rev. Alexander Daroczy. The Annual Bazaar yielded a net income of $1000 which proves the generosity of the donors and gives credit to the untiring workers. Plans for Chinese auctions on two Fridays (November 3 and December 1), and a cake sale on November 18 are being made by the Women’s Guild. YOUTH NEWS CARTERET New officers of the Christian Youth Fellowship: Margie Deak president, Barbara Ann Toth vice-president, Margaret Lukach (29 Lafayette St., Carteret, N. J. 07008) secretary, Gus Fabian treasurer, Ronald Szabó chaplain. DETROIT Newly elected officers: Bob Kovács president, Debbie Kaplar vice-president, Julie Rejko and Sandy Ponto secretaries, Judy Molnár treasurer, “little” Helen Fazekas historian who did such a terrific job with her marvellous collection of pictures and trivia. The sponsors are Mrs. Ernest Arvai and Art Antal with Mr. and Mrs. Steve Nagy to pinch-hit when necessary. The biggest activity is the annual Christmas Card Party. People have signed in for tickets last year already and they are limited to 500! The home of Mrs. Arvai is the scene of the feverish activities, all gifts are hand created Christmas articles. Members, their mothers, interested friends and past sponsors who are still “in harness” are giving them a hand. Tickets at $1.50 will include a luncheon. Past activities: a “wet” hayride and serving at a wedding. Junior Youth News: Zoltán Ambrus took 40 young people under 14 to the Belmar Bowling Lanes. Peter Kish came out on the top with a score of 184. Officers are Jeff Combos president, Joselyn Wickers vice-president and Wendy Jacobs secretary. DUQUESNE The Youth Fellowship is planning a combined Halloween Party for the Duquesne-McKeesport congregation, on October 28th. They will be in charge of the program at the fall fellowship dinner, on November 5th. The theme will be: “Hit Parade Through the Years . . .” The Duquesne-McKeesport Youth Fellowship changed its meetings to Sunday afternoon 2:00 o’clock. PERTH AMBOY A Christian Youth Fellowship retreat is scheduled for Friday, November 10th in our Center and Church. Young men and women of our congregation are invited to attend! The young people’s hay-ride this fall will be held on Saturday, November 18th. Those who are interested should contact the officers of our youth organization. The meetings are held on Sunday evenings. A Thanksgiving social and get-together for the youth is arranged for Friday, November 24th from 8 to 11 P.M. Szeptember 24-én ünnepi bankettet rendeztünk Kun József alapitó tagunk tiszteletére aki 33 évi hűséges munka után lelkészünknek adta át a Református Egyesület 267-es csoportjának ügykezelését.
