MAGYAR EGYHÁZ 11 The Carteret group at the United Church Women Conference to this area as teachers. Miss Clara Kantor will teach 6th grade in Carteret, William F. Koy biology and general science at Carteret High School, while Miss Carol Breza will become a French teacher in Colonia Junior High School. Pastor Dr. Harsanyi has been elected for a three-year term to the Board of Directors of the Perth Amboy-Carteret Chapter of the American Red Cross. Baptisms: Sharee Dawn, daughter of Robert Corrente and his wife Carol Ann Kutcher; godparents: Thomas an A Doreen Kutcher. Also: Alan Gregg, son of Balasz Harsa and his wife Mary Ann Helen Guzsaly; godparents: Lou Wagner and Linda Guzsaly. A contribution of $100 has been sent to the Hungarian Reformed Church of Flint, Michigan to the Rev. Andrew Hagy Memorial Fund. Carteret was Rev. Nagy’s “home church.” he was born and raised in this borough. DETROIT Dedication: The pictoral report on the dedication of the new $600,000 church, educational unit, fellowship hall and administrative offices will be found elsewhere in this issue of Magyar Church. We would like to add that the offering on this day was $13.000.00. Pentecost in our new church was a thrilling spiritual experience. Both services were well attended and the communicants at the Lord’s Supper were in greater number than on past occasions. The offering on Pentecost Sunday was $3,876.95 Our Annual Open Air Service and Picnic will be held on July 25th at the Hungarian Park, Estral Beach. Services will start at 11 A.M. The Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper, giving thanks for the New Bread, will be held on August 1st at both services. Weddings. Barbara Sheffield and Wallace Dixon; Jean Grozoiu and Dennis Van Nostrand, DUQUESNE On Pentecost Sunday only half of the communicant members (162) lived with the sacrament of the Lord’s Sup­per, which was well below our aver­age. This year’s Vacation Bible School, held during the second and third week of June, was under the direction of Mrs. Yoland Estu; the teaching staff included Mrs. Helen Sapos, Mrs. Irene Vockley, Mrs. Ethel Stanko. Mrs. Clara Gougler and Mrs. Betty Mitrik, with the following girls as helpers: Shirley Stiver, Janice Horvath, Christine Estu and Diane Vockley. Our summer schedule calls for Hun­garian Services at 9 A.M. & Worship Services in English at 10 A.M. There is no regular Sunday School held dur­ing July and August, but the Pre- School Department (Nursery & Be­ginners) is open during the English Services. McKeesport On May 23, six girls and 12 boys were confirmed, namely: Eric S. Balogh, Barbara J. Banes, Norman G. Banis, Darlene S. Gatchie, John W. Gatchie, Kathleen J. Gatchie, Herbert A. Gibson, Deborah R. Jordanhazy, Kirk D. Jordanhazy, Robert A. Jordan­­hazy, Eugene J. Kerti, Alexander J. Meszar, Robert J. Olyarnik, Deborah G. Orris, Michael R. Riley, Ronald R. Riley, Mary Kay Starry, Joseph E. Ste pansky. The following young people from our church were graduated from high school: Albert Banes, Bill Banis, Karin Doby, Ernest Fazekas, Coleen Helms, Gloria Husack, Eugene Jordanhazy, Edith Kish, Jane Makatura, Dennis Marton, Sandra Marton, Victoria Nagy. The Women’s Guild presented gifts to these graduates at the English service on June 13. The Youth Fellowship held a joint meeting with the Duquesne young people on June 13. PERTH AMBOY Honor the Graduates banquet will be held on Wednesday, June 30th, at 6 P.M. in our center. High School and College graduates, their parents and friends are invited by the Christian Youth Fellowship. Summer School is scheduled to be held from June 28th to July 10th. Children from 3 years old to confirma­tion age are urged to attend. Superin­tendent this year is Mrs. Elizabeth Rhodes. Christian Youth Fellowship meetings during the summer months will be held every Wednesday at 7 P.M. The Eastern Area Youth Federation outing will be held on Saturday, July 24th; arrangements will be made by the Trenton clubs. Baptism: Henry Andrew Painter, Jr. Weddings: Alex B. Eger, Jr. and Elaine M. Stueber; Stephen D. Baranya and Julanna Szabó. Burials: Mrs. Mary Drótár, (Mary Tóth) 53 years old. Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Minue and Mr. and Mrs. Gabriel Szilágy cele­brated their 25th, Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Bodnár, their 50th wedding anniversaries. ROEBLING Marriage: James Harkel and Geor­­gianna Bordash. TRENTON Hungarian worship service on Sun­day morning begins at 9:20, English at 11. Baptism: David Alexander, son of Alexander Sabo and his wife Mary E. Affinati. The scholarship awards created by the Men’s Club have been given to Ilona Danch, Walter Katona, James Vágott. Kenneth Ture who is going to enter the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis received special citation. YOUNGSTOWN On May 30th the following were confirmed during the English service: John C. Nelson, Georgann Pallai, Mary E. Pogány, Roberta D. Smith, Joseph W. Toth and Linda J. Vant ell. During the week before Pentecost one of our brothers turned to our faith. Pentecost Sunday services were well attended and many took communion. On July 11th we will have the pic­ric for our Sunday School children at Palmyra Lake. Baptism. On June 6th. Jennifer Ber­nadette, daughter of Eugene V. Mc­Gowan and his wife, Elizabeth Nagy- Godparents: Mr. & Mrs. Harry Glenn Camball. Wedding. On April 24th Elmer Stal­­nacker Jr. and Joanne Marie Sokol. Witnesses: Guy Gaetano and Judy W arga. On May 30th the Men’s Club pre­sented the Man of the Year award to Albert Batta, who for years has been our church Treasurer. YOUTH NEWS BETHLEN YOUTH FEDERATION The Executive Board of the B.Y.F. met on June 12 in Akron, Ohio. The docket included discussion on plans how to assist local fellowships in their yearly activities, the possibility of a permanent campsite as well as some amendments to the Constitution and
