18 MAGYAR EGYHÁZ New Year’s Eve Dinner-Dance in Bethlen Hall. The Géczy-Petrick Orchestra will play. Tickets can be obtained from any member of the Junior Women’s Guild or the Men’s Club. The Youth Fellowship will have their own table at this party. Pastor Dr. Harsanyi attended the Triennial General Assembly of the National Council of Churches in Philadelphia, Pa. December 1-7, as a delegate of our denomination. Baptisms: Marlene Joan, daughter of George Ladislaus Fischer and his wife Elaine Szabó; James Gary, son of James Kovács and his wife Renée Louise Bernardine Castantini. DUQUESNE The number of members participating in the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper on Thanksgiving Sunday was again an even 200 as on World Wide Communion Sunday. November was our Loyalty Month with an emphasis on Stewardship and culminated in the Thanksgiving Communion. Our Sunday School had two memorial services; on November 17 Wesley L. Probst, one of our S.S. teachers (who died as a result of a car accident) and the late President Kennedy were remembered in prayer. The Sunday School Christmas program will be held during the regular session on Sunday, December 22. Our Women’s Club prepared Christmas gifts for the guests of the Bethlen Home, Ligonier, as it is their custom every year. The schedule of services and other Christmas activities was mailed to our members. PERTH AMBOY Our Thanksgiving Banquet was attended by 600 people; the main speakers were Congressman Edward J. Patten and the Rt. Rev. Dr. Zoltán Beky, Bishop. Thanks and appreciation is expressed to the workers, those who attended that evening and made donations towards the Mortgage Reduction Fund: the Women’s Guild donated $2,000. — the Women’s Club $1,500, the Men’s Club $100, The Christian Youth Fellowship $100; Mr. & Mrs. Louis Csipő $500 — for our Organ Fund. Other donations will be listed in the church bulletin. Due to the generosity of our members the $100,000 mortgage taken 5 years ago was paid back at this time, 10 years before its scheduled final payment. The Annual Bazaar of the Women’s Guild “Snowflake Bazaar’’, on Dec. 8th by the cooperation of all organizations, and our members and friends, was a successful one! The children’s Christmas program will be held on Sunday, December 22nd at 2:00 P.M. The Women’s Guild will be the hostess for the affair. The order of divine worship services will be mailed in time for the Christmas holiday season. Please, notify the church office of your change of address! The Men’s Club will sponsor a New Year’s Eve dinner-dance in our auditorium. Tickets are available from the members! STATEN ISLAND On Sunday, December 22nd we will have the Christmas Party for our Sunday School children. The gifts for the party and for the children Women’s were Guild. donated by the On Christmas Eve,after the church service the members of the Young People’s Club and the Choir will visit our members and friends with their Annual Christmas Caroling.
