NEWS FROM THE CONGREGATIONS BETHLEHEM The Lord’s Supper was served on October 27th. The holy elements were donated by Mrs. John Has­­zonics. CARTERET World Wide Communion brought 122 members around the Lord’s Table. Holy elements were donated by Elder Bert Pokol. The Annual Thanksgiving Dinner will take place on Saturday, Nov­ember 9. The brief program will in­clude an address by the Rev. Manuel Rodriguez, a refugee presbyterian minister from Cuba. The “Cara­van Band” will play Hungarian folk and dance music. The Pastor, accompanied by the elders, is engaged in a general visi­tation of the congregation in the course of which the family files of church members are being brought up to date. The Men’s Club’s activities in­cluded recently: a social for the men’s organizations of the Perth Amboy and Trenton churches; at­tended a similar social in Trenton; sponsored a Grape Festival Dance in Bethlen Hall. The Junior Women’s Guild pre­pared the lunch for members of the Woodbridge and Vicinity Mini­sterial Association which held its October meeting in our church. Baptisms: Edward John, son of William Charles Smith and his wife, Mildred Margret Hallahan Smith; Leslie Christine, daughter of Ernest Joseph Kijula and his wife, Olive Montgomery Kijula. Burials: Mrs. George Krehely (formerly Mrs. Gyula Németh, neé Velma Molnár), 68 years old and Mrs. Albert Sóhaj da (neé Lidia Miklós), 71 years old. DUQUESNE 200 members partook of the Lord’s Supper on World Wide Communion Sunday; it was below average. Our Fall Fellowship Dinner or Loyalty Supper was held on the first Sunday of November. The Thanksgiving Communion Services will be held on Sunday, November 24. The annual reorganization of our Sunday School resulted the follow­ing changes: Mr. Joseph Kallery, our superintendent resigned and Mr. Robert Kish accepted this im­portant position; Mr. Ernest L. Kovach remains the assistant supt. as well as the visual-aid coordina­tor; the junior officers are David Sapos, treasurer; Charlene Nagy, secretary; Janice Horvath, recorder; pianists: Stephanie Szőke and Shir­ley Stiver. The following teachers were assigned to classes: Mrs. Helen Homoki, Mrs. Margaret Ochiva, Mrs. Irene Vockley, Mrs. Helen Sapos, Mr. Wesley Probst, Mrs. Ethel Stanko, Mr. Richard Szuch and Mrs. Stephen Szőke. Substitutes include Mr. Joseph Kallery, Mrs. Margaret Kovach, Mr. Robert Bod­nar, Mrs. Irene Stiver. The Preschool Department (Nur­sery & Beginners) of our Sunday School is headed by Mrs. Irene Ze­­leznik, who is assisted by Mrs. Mildred Sabo. At the present the teachers in this department include Mrs. Nettiebelle Kish, Olga Gwynn, Leona Kennedy, Peggy Tusay, Mal­­verne Heyz, assisted by the girls of our Youth Fellowship. PERTH AMBOY Our Sunday School children had a Rally Day program on October 6th. Parents should send their children to our Sunday School; better still, bring them! The Men’s Club members partici­pated in socials at the invitation of the Men’s Club of Carteret and Trenton, N. J. The Women’s Guild and the Senior Women’s Club have made sizeable donations towards the mortgage reduction fund. Other members and friends contributed generously. Those who have not given for this fund yet, please, do so now. The 60th anniversary of the church and the mortgage burning of our educational center is schedul­ed for Sunday, November 24th; special thanksgiving services will be held in the morning, followed by a banquet at 6 P.M. Please, re­serve this date! Church members are asked to obtain their tickets in advance. STATEN ISLAND Our annual bazaar was held on October 12th and October 19th and it was a very successful event. Our thanks to the members of the Women’s Guild for their work and to the members and friends of our congregation for their cooperation. On October 20th the members of the Young People’s Club attended the Quarterly Conference of the Eastern Area Youth Federation, in Roebling, N. J. The annual outing of the Women’s Guild to New York City will take place on October 26th. Baptism: On September 22nd, Steven Gabor, son of Stephen Am­brus and his wife Margaret Sera. Godparents: Mr. and Mrs. Nándor Kiss. Wedding: Matthew R. Saia and Irma Jean Torzsas on October 5th; witnesses: Mr. Harry Costello and Miss Eleanor Szász. AZ EZÉVI MAGYAR PROTES­TÁNS BÁL november 15-én, pén­teken este 8:30 órai kezdettel lesz a new yorki Hotel Commodore “Windsor” termében. Révay István és zenekara muzsikál.. Belépődíj (vacsora nélkül) 7 dollár. Meghí­vók és belépőjegyek a “Hungarian Protestant Ball, 229 East 82nd St., New York 28, N.Y.” címen igényel­hetők. GYÜLEKEZETI ELET TRENTON, N. J. Templom: Home Avenue és Beatty sarkán. Lelkész: Dr. Béky Zoltán, püspök 180 Home Avenue, Trenton, N. J. Templomfestésre és renoválásra a gyűjtést megkezdtük. Az elmúlt hónapban a megajánlások és be­folyt adományoknak az összege meghaladja a négyezer dollárt. Az egyház mindnyájunké. Kérjük egy­háztagjainkat, ugyanolyan áldozat­­készséggel járuljanak a nagy ter­hek viseléséhez, mint az eddigiek tették. A Women’s Guild szokásos őszi összejövetelét november 9-én, szom­bat este tartja iskolánk dísztermé­ben. Missziós vasárnap lesz egyházunk­ban — mint minden évben — november 10-én. Kérjük híveinket adakozzanak egyházunk missziós munkájára. Bazárunkat október 26-án tar­tottuk szép sikerrel. Az eredmény­ről jövő lapszámunkban számolunk be. Esküvő: Róbert L. Czinke, Czinke József és Dócs Jolán szülők nőtlen fia és Málnássy Verna, Málnássy Antal és Varga Margit szülők haja­don leánya október 19-én tartotta esküvőjét templomunkban.
