The family average of contributions was $116.66 and the confirmed individual average was $61.76 based on the total of contributions ($22,000.00) and not on the total income ($27, 500.00). For benevolence and mission work of the Church our members contributed $2,770.54 while we are still heavily indebted in the amount of $54,389.44. The leadership of our Sunday School include: Joseph Kallery, superintendent, Ernest Kovach, assistant superintendent and the following teachers: Margaret Szőke, Margaret Ochiva, Yolanda Estu, Helen Sapos, Dorothy Horvath, Marian Nagy, Betty Larkin, Peggy Vasilisin, Loretta Kish, and Helen Homoki. Junior Staff members: Eileen Jenulevich, secretary, Gerald Polivka, treasurer, Alan Palagy, recorder as well as Stephanie Szőke, Shirley Stiver and Gerald Polivka, pianists. The Preschool Department is in charge of Margaret Kovach, with Mildred Sabo as assistant, the teachers changing every quarter in this department. Officers of the organizations elected for 1962 include: Women’s Club: Helen Sapos, president; Margaret Horvath, vice-president; Irene Zeleznik, treasurer; and Nettiebelle Kish, secretary. “One Star’’ Mission group: Margaret Szőke secretary. Cancer Dressing group: Margaret Kovach, chairlady and Betty Larkin assistant. Youth Fellowship: Robert Sapos, president; Joseph Kish, Jr., vicepresident; Judy Lewis, secretary; and Stephanie Szőke, treasurer. Scouting: Chairman of Committee and Post Advisor, Joseph Voros, Scoutmaster, Albert D. Matta for the boys: for girls: Marian Nagy, leader and Margaret Horvath assistant. Organist: Georgia Kallery. Janitor: James Lewis. Flower Committee: Helen Homoki and Rose Twojay. The Women’s Club, on a very well attended surprise party, paid tribute to the pastor and his wife on the occasion of their twentieth wedding anniversary and presented them with a beautiful gift. PERTH AMBOY The newly elected church officers are the following: John Marincsak, chief-elder; Dr. Albert Ur, vice president; Gabriel Tariska, treasurer; Joseph Banyacski, secretary; Steven J. Deak, financial secretary; John Latkovich, assistant treasurer. Elders: Frank Baka, John Balia, John Balint, James Benko, Victor DeMarco, Joseph Gyure, Henry Hudacsko; John Kish, Gabriel Tariska. Appreciation and thanks to the retiring officers and leaders was expressed by the congregational meeting to Andrew Orosz, Frank Zambo, Zoltán Kurpe, and Frank Banyacski, Jr. The Women’s Guild will celebrate its 15th anniversary by participating in a corporate Holy Communion on March 4th. New members were received into the Guild and those interested to join should contact the officers. Meetings are held on the first and third Tuesday nights of each month. At the quarterly youth conference of this area the following officers were elected: Albert Beke, president; (Trenton); Roger Bodnar vice-president (Staten Island); Linda Jensen, secretary (Carteret); Patricia Moran, treasurer (Perth Amboy); Andrea Soltész, chaplain (Trenton); advisors of the groups are: Joseph Cookson, student at Princeton Theological Seminary and Lester Helmeczi, student at Rutgers University. Our Youth Fellowship meetings are held every Sunday night from 7 to 9 P.M. ROEBLING The new officers of the Young Women’s Guild are as follows: President: Mrs. Helen Nagy, Vice- President: Mrs. Julia Birkholz, Secretary: Mrs. Ruth Molnár, Treasurer: Mrs. Helen Bordash. On February 13th, a rug-party was held by the Young Women’s Guild; Mrs. Rose Lynch who acts as the president of this project was in charge. An Adult Choir has been formed under the leadership of Mrs. Audrey Emri. With this new choir our church has now three choirs. Mrs. Emri, choir director, is to be commended for her fine work.
