MAGYAR EGYHÁZ 11 NEWS FROM THE CONGREGATIONS BETHLEHEM, PA. Bi-lingual combined worship services will be held during the summer months at 10 A.M. Our Men’s Club entertained the members of our church at an out­ing on July 24th at Ernest Ne­meth’s in Millerheights. CARTERET The Women’s Conference in Perth Amboy, on June 12th, elected Mrs. John Nemish first president of the United Church Women of the Hun­garian Reformed Church in America, Eastern Area. The Junior Women’s Guild pre­sented the church with a new marble baptismal font, the Lorantffy Society with a new sound amplifier system. The Lorantffy ladies also gave $1,000 toward our church indebtedness which, after our recent payment of $2,000, has been reduced to $2,000. Following the example of other sister churches we extended a one­­year loan of $500 to the Hollywood Church toward the purchase of a sanctuary. The Pastor spent two weeks in Europe visiting several Hungarian Reformed pastors and church leaders. He will submit his report to the Bishop’s Council. Baptisms: Alan Joseph, son of Joseph Nudge and his wife, Esther Santos; godparents: Frank Neal and Mary Ellen Lahavich. William Alexander, son of William Sebok and his wife, Maureen McGough; god­parents: Theodor and Helen Hamer. Weddings: Norman Leslie Palmer and Arlene Rompa: Stephen Kovács and Marilyn Ann Reed. DETROIT The Detroit Christian Youth Fellowship ratified their constitution at their May meeting, and pledged one hundred and fifty dollars to the Church Building Fund, which will be payable during a three year span. The Detroit Christian Youth Fellowship was welcomed into the home of Zoltán Horosz for their June meeting. Devotion was given by Margaret Arvai. Our officers attended a Western Classis meeting in Akron, Ohio, on June 26. Susan Nagy, Bethlen Youth Federation’s Representative of the West will attend a Bethlen Youth Federation Constitution meeting in McKeesport in July. DUQUESNE, PA. In our Vacation Bible School we had 61 children, grouped in seven classes. Eight of those were con­firmed in the faith on June 26: Rose Marie Csapó, Lewis Fabian, Eileen Jenulevich, Daryle Kallery, James Lewis, Jr., Gerald Polivka, Dennis Revak and David Sapos. During the morning services of June 26 we remembered the founding of our congregation on June 26, 1910, with prayerful hearts. Another 50th anniversary is celebrated by our Harvest Communion on July 31, since our congregation’s first Communion Service was held on July 31, 1910. The Golden Jubilee Service and Banquet for the public will be held on Sunday, November 6. Dennis Sapos, past president of the Youth Fellowship, attended the weeklong Youth Seminar in Washington and New York, spon­sored by the United Presbyterian Church. In spite of our own indebtedness our congregation assisted the Holly­wood congregation in obtaining their new church building with a loan. Our Women’s Club is planning to have another outing this year to the Bethlen Home of Ligonier, on August 21. Our youth leaders attended the organizational meeting of the young people of our Western Classis in Akron, Ohio, on June 26. McKeesport The McKeesport Ladies’ Aid spon­sored a Mother’s Day Program and Banqueet on Mother’s Day. In the afternoon the Church Choir par­ticipated in the Fraternal Order of Eagles’ Mother’s Day Celebration. Sandra Banes represented the McKeesport Youth Fellowship at the North Field Religious Conference at Westminster College. PERTH AMBOY, N. J. There will be Holy Communion at both services on Sunday, August 7th, when Zoltán Sziics, Student from Princeton Seminary will help to administer the elements. Members of the Youth Club will serve breakfast after this Communion service in our new center. Orphanage Sunday is scheduled in our congregation for Sunday, August 14th, when the Rev. Alexander Daróczv, Superintendent of our Bethlen Home will preach at both services. Remember the need of our orphanage and old people’s home with your generous support. Church services will be held as usual on Sunday, August 21st, and 28th, when the Rev. Charles Daróczy, Pastor of the Bedford Park Presby­terian Church, Bronx N. Y., will be the guest minister. August 14th and 27th, there will be car wash by the Youth Club in the yard of the Church. Patronize them! The Annual Youth Conference for all the churches of our denomination will be held during the Labor Day weekend in Perth Amboy. All young people are invited. Május 29-én húsz ifjú konfirman­dus növendékünk tett bizonyságot hitéről és bocsájtatott az Úrvacsora sákramentumához. Pünkösdvasár­napján éltek először az úri szent va­csorával. Konfirmandusaink névso­rát múlt számunkban már közöl­tük. Junius 19-én jól sikerült évi egyetlen kirándulást tartottunk a Vosler’s Groveban. Id. Radványi Fe­renc volt a kirándulást vezető bo­­zottság diszelnöke és ifj. Jenei Jó­zsef gondnok az ügyvezető elnöke. Egyházunk nőtagjai népes kül­döttséggel vettek részt a perth am­­boyi női konferencián junius 12-én. Az egyház templomi orgonájának újjáépítését határozta el az egyház­tanács és arra az önkéntes mega­jánlások megkezdődtek. Az orgona ujraszentelése egyházunk hatalmas kultúrterme harmic éves évfordulója alkalmából az ősz folyamán megy végbe. Elhunytak: Fodor József né sz. Papp Mária, Czirják Zsigmondné (Paulsboro, N.
