MAGYAR EGYHÁZ 11 WOMEN'S INTER-GUILD NEWS The Annual Spring social of the Women’s Guild of the Eastern and New York Classes was held this year at Staten Island, New York, April 28. Hundred women met in Christian fellowship from Trenton, Roebling, Carteret, Perth Amboy, Bronx and Staten Island. Mrs. Fred Cutler welcomed the group by expressing her delight to see the Inter-Guilds from Perth Amboy, Carteret and Staten Island grow to include Trenton, Roebling and the Bronx. The theme chosen for the evening was “Women True Believers”. It was hoped that this will impress the women with the thought that all things are possible with true belief. With that thought in mind the great undertaking that faces us on June 12, will be a step forward in the progress of the Women’s Guild of the Eastern and New York Classes. June 12 is the date of the Women’s Conference to be held in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. Dean Gabor Csordás and the Rev. Aladar Komjáthy took part in the church service. OLGA SZABÓ EPS NEWS In Sweden the draft for a new party-programme of the Social Democratic Party for the first time has dropped its demand for the separation of Church and State. The draft programme, which is to be presented to the Party Congress this summer, merely asks that “the relation between Church and State be settled in accordance with the principle of religious freedom.” “Svensk Veckotidning” (the weekly paper of the Swedish Missionary Association), interprets the change as due as much to political and tactical considerations as to a basic change in the party’s attitude to the Church.
