MAGYAR EGYHÁZ 11 DETROIT, MICH. Our Easter Season services were remarkably well attended. On Easter Sunday the two services were attended by over 1000, the majority of whom observed the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper. 23 boys and girls and 4 adults who were confirmed on Palm Sunday, were guests at the Lord’s Table for their first communion. Our Easter Offering together with the Palm Sunday offering totalled $4715.73. On May 8th special Mothers’ Day Services will be held at both the English and Hungarian Services. Our Annual Spring Bazaar will be held on May 12, 13 and 15th. There will be a fish-fry on May 13th. Ascension Day Services will be held May 26th at 7:30 P.M. The Western Classis of our Church will meet in Detroit on May 29 and 30. Our congregation is looking forward with keen anticipation to this meeting and are making plans to make the visit of our guests most enjoyable. The Christian Youth Fellowship had a skating party in March and a card party in April. McKeesport, pa. Recent activities of the Youth Fellowship: they made a final revision of their constitution, had a successful bake sale, attended a Duquesne Youth Fellowship meeting, and had a drive for new members. DUQUESNE, PA. The meeting day of the Youth Fellowship has been changed from Thursday to Sunday at 7:30 P.M. All dues have been changed from 100 weekly to 500 monthly. The Fellowship has sent letters to the various youth groups in the West concerning the idea of a western classis regional conference. CARTERET, N. J. Our Eastern season church attendance and giving (exceeding $2,200) have reached an all time high. Let us pray that the ernest of the congregation’s devotions and the faithfulness of their stewardship stay at an all time high. After Easter, a study group will be started for people who wish to unite with our Church. William Lazar, our 1st vice chief elder, has been elected lay recording secretary of the Eastern Classis at its annual meeting in Bethlehem, Pa. The Junior Women’s Guild visited their sister group on Staten Island for a social gathering on April 28th; on May 4th they entertained members of the Lorantiffy Society at a Mother’s Day social. From our church register: baptized on March 27th Patricia Ann, daughter of Robert Legeny and Julia Shovey, godparents Joseph Legeny and Margaret Liptak; on April 10th, Mitchell Alexander, son of Alexander Peter and Catherine Cilwik, godparents Steve M. Nagy and Elizabeth Toth. Married were in our church on April 11th Robert William Corrente and Carol Ann Kutcher; witnesses: Stephen and Mary Toth. PERTH AMBOY, N. J. Westminster Chapel Choir Concert will be held in our auditorium on Sunday May 8th, Mother’s Day at 8:00 P.M. Tickets are available from the members of our Choir. Don’t miss this opportunity. The Lord’s Supper for the month of May will be held on Mother’s Day, when the Sr. Women’s Club will partake in a body. May 14th, Saturday, our Youth Club will continue the carwashproject. Please, patronize our youth, and bring your car to the church yard. Annual Mother’s Day Banquet by the Women’s Guild is scheduled for May 15th. Please, reserve this date and bring your family to this yearly affair. Tickets are available from the members of the Women’s Guild. May 17th is the date of our Guild’s Flower Show. New members will be welcomed. Youth Conference for the churches in New Jersey, New York and vicinity will be held in Charleston S.I., N.Y. on Sunday May 22nd. Our youth clubs are planning to attend. Join us! May 26th: Ascension Day, the Confirmation Class’ examination will take place during the evening worship service at 7:30 P.M. Parents, godparents and church members are invited. May 19th, Sunday, the annual memorial services are going to be held in the church and in the cemetery. Baptisms: Wayne Louis, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Deák; Rosemary Helen, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Karmazsin; Michael Steven, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Steven Deak Jr. were baptized on April 10th. Deaths: Mr. Louis Amaczy Sr., Mr. John T. Szabó (Nixon); their funeral services were held in our cemetery. Marriages: Eileen Vereb and Carl Gaissert were united in holy matrimony in our church on April 23rd by the Rev. Dr. Andrew Harsányi. An adjustable pulpit lectern was donated at Easter by Mrs. Helen Deák and Mrs. Julia Kotsak; a small table, to hold the individual Holy Communion sets, was donated by John Both Jr. and William G. Tóth. May God bless them for their thoughtfulness. ROEBLING, N. J. Palm Sunday Edward Stefan, Paul Papai and James Botiinger were examined and admitted to the Lord’s Supper by the rite of Confirmation. They received Holy Communion during the Sunrise Service on Easter Sunday morning. The Sunrise Service was followed by our Sixth Annual Easter Breakfast prepared by the Young Women’s Guild of our Church. April 3rd Orphanage Sunday was held in our Church; The Rt. Rev. Sándor Daróczy preached at both services. * * * Mr. Zoltán Emri an elder of the Hungarian Reformed Church of Roebling, was elected and installed as President of the Florence Township Chapter of the international organization Jaycees. At the charter night of the Florence Township Jaycees Mr. Zoltqn Emri gave his installation speech as president with many township dignitaries and State officials of the Jaycees present. The Rev. Aladar Komjáthy gave the invocation and benediction at this charter night on April 9th. NEWS FROM THE CONGREGATIONS
