The HITLER TABLE-TALKS, stenographically recorded, are among the valuable mass of material for an evaluation of the Fuehrer and the function of German National Socialism in the historic evolution of the nations involved in World War II. Undoubtedly, Hitler was a genius. Also, without doubt, he was without spiritual reserves and basis in his Weltanschauung, so that, had his Germany won World War II, the Christian principles of humanity under God would have been destroyed. His plan envisioned the organization of the Continent of Europe under the dominance and leadership of German peoples, including the exploitation of Western Asia for the benefit of the Master- Race. In this Hitler saw a re-born Empire of German stock (relieved of the “Holy” and the ‘ Roman” parts of the quondam Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation”). The elimination of all moral, guiding principles in Hitler’s philosophy is clearly presented. People are to be used for the ends of the greatness of the Empire, which will be led by an elite of mind and body. That superiority will be bred and trained in calculated, ruthless fashion. Jews, in this scheme, have no place. And the Slavs are to be serfs, who will be kept at an inferior cultural level. To be noted is Hitler’s insensibility to the imponderables of human history: right, justice, human sympathy, Christianity. Without these, nihilism would usher in a new creation of heaven and earth! It was as tragic an error to hold Hitler’s Weltanschauung to be an isolated phenomenon in the era of world-wide nihilism, as was the Fuehrer’s own miscomprehension of the reality of things. Merely to defeat Nazism was a victory of nihilism, of which it was only one expression. Hundreds of millions of people, innocent, suffering folk were betrayed: slavery was established at the word of self-appointed leaders; the law of human rights was abrogated; the ‘vae victis” was resurrected from the pre-Christian era as impersonally and coldbloodedly as Hitler planned the liquidation of “racial enemies.” The mirror of Hitler’s mind in these “Table- Talks” reflects the world of his age. It may well be the Goetterdaemmerung for the world of nations! But the faith and hope, even of that pristine insight into the depths of universal tragedy is the re-born world living according to the eternal laws of God, in peace and brotherhood! John F. C. Green. KOMMUNISTA TUDOMÁNY A “népnevelés” örve alatt, mint tudjuk, erőteljes kommunista propaganda folyik őhazai véreink között. Egy bizonyos alföldi nagyközség sem lehetett kivétel, mert ki volt adva a parancs, hogy a keménykötésü hajdú népséget be kell törni “intenziv neveléssel” a kommunista járomba. Hogy ne lehessen feltűnően látni a kilógó lólábat, a pártszabályok hosszú lére eresztett ismertetése után “tudományos” előadásra került a sor. Természetesen sor került a Darwin-féle evolúciós elméletre is. Hozzá méltó buzgalommal magyarázta az előadó, hogy felvilágosult emberek, de főképpen öntudatos kommunisták nem dőlhetnek be annak a papi maszlagnak, hogy az embert az Isten a saját képére és hasonlatosságára, tehát okos és halhatatlan lélekkel felruházva teremtette, mert hiszen Isten nincs is, igy semmit sem teremthetett, hanem minden csak a természet müve s az ember is csak egy az evolúció során előállott emlős állatok között, akinek őse Darwin apánk szerint majom formájában ugrándozott a fák tetején. Arra az ellenvetésre, hogy az ember mégis csak külömb kell hogy legyen a többi állatoknál, mert hiszen gondolkozik és észbeli képességeivel felette áll az állatnak, a döntő érvet a másik “előadó” mondta ki, aki valamikor a dekadens és papi huncutsággal megmételyezett világban csordás volt valamelyik szomszéd faluban, de a pártiskola annyira kinevelte, hogy most már megfelelt a teljes megbízhatóságot igénylő előadói állásra is. Saját tapasztalataira hivatkozva határozottan állította, hogy az általa ismert szarvasmarhák között jó néhány sokkal gyorsabb felfogású volt és értelmesebben gondolkozott, mint a gazdája. Ez ellen a tekintély jogán mondott érv ellen aztán nem lehetett apelláta, mert hiszen teljes összhangban volt a ‘ párt” hivatalos álláspontjával. Kíváncsian várjuk most már a további fejleményeket. Egy cseppet sem leszünk meglepve, ha legközelebb arról olvasunk, hogy az illető községben "a nép hozzájárulásával” helyi pártelnöknek a falu bikáját s titkárnak — többtermelési érdemeit is figyelembe véve — a legtöbb tejet adó riska tehenet nevezte ki a legfőbb kommunista tanács. Ki tudja, hátha a mostaninál jobb is lesz az az ilyen formán átszervezendő helyi párt-tanács? ★ BÍRÓSÁGON — Miért hozta azt a hatalmas furkósbotot András a bíróságra? — Instállom, — hangzik a válasz, — az idéző cédulán az állt, hogy gondoskodjak a védelmemről.
