protection for the rights of men and nations,actually are but blatant documents of international power politics, and

Whereas, these agreements not only fail to defend the principles of the Bill of Rights, the Atlantic Charter, the Four Freedoms and the United Nations Declaration of January 1942, but have divided Europe and Asia into two zones of influence, one of which, with 160 million traditionally free Europeans, is under Soviet enslavement, while the other zone is under a steadily growing menace of national disintegration caused by Communist action, and

Whereas, many millions more of traditionally free persons, transplanted through the fortupes of war, fearing enslavement in their Soviet dominated homelands, must stay in camps of compulsory isolation in Western and Central Europe, from which some even have been deported forcefully to Soviet occupied areas,

WE THEREFORE URGE UPON THE PRESIDENT AND THE CONGRESS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA:

1. That national independence and security be restored and assured for Estonia, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Iran, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Yugoslavia, Slovakia. Korea, China and all other countries whose independence and security have been taken away by force or is threatened by agression, and

2. That secret agreements, such as those of Teheran, Yalta and Potsdam, concluded during the war without consultation with or consent of the respective peoples and Allied governments concerned and especially without the approval and ratification of the United States Senate, be investigated by Congress to determine whether they are valid and conform with the principles of the Atlantic Charter, with American Constitutional law and with tradition, and

3. That unless and until they have been ratified by the United States Senate after investigation, they be repudiated and declared null and void by the Department of State and the Chief Executive on the ground that they contain decisions which properly come under categories of treaties and were executed without the advice or consent of the United States Senate and of the American people, and

4. That in the meantime all innocent victims of the above mentioned agreements — both Allied armed forces and all displaced persons — be assured of refuge and protection by every means of America’s disposal, and

5. That there be eliminated from government office and position as a constant menace to America’s security and Constitutional government all persons serving the interests of any foreign power, and

6. That there be adopted a World Bill of Rights, by the acceptance and application of which, all nations are to be judged as to whether they are eligible to be mem• bers of the United Nations Organization; and also that all peace treaties guarantee the application of the World Bill of Rights against a repetition of the present reign of terror in Eastern Europe and in other parts of the world.

Copies of this Resolution are to be sent to the President, to all Members of the Cabinet, and to all Members of Congress.

Egy katona orvul lelőtte feljebbvalóját. Mikor ezért halálra Ítélték s a siralomházban megjelent előtte papja a vallás vigasztaló igéivel, lázadozva kiáltott fel: "....ha van Isten, miért engedte, hogy lelőjjem azt az embert?!” íme, ez az ember Istent hibáztatta, amiért nem akadályozta meg külső csodával az ő szörnyű tettét. Mintha Isten nem jelentette volna ki sohasem, hogy mit vár az Ö szabad akarattal felruházott gyermekeitől. Mintha nem véste volna mindnyájunk szivébe a szülői ház intelmeivel ,az egyház tanításaival és lelkiismeretünk bírói szavával az ö parancsolatait. Mintha nem küldte volna el szent Fiát a földre, hogy bennünket jóra vezéreljen és bűneink dacára is a megbocsátó Atya keblére vezessen. Mindezt megtette és ez a gyilkos katona mégis Istent okolta tettéért. Mint a háború borzalmait saját fejére zúdító emberiség.Vajjon mikor látjuk már be, hogy nem Ö, hanem mi vagyunk okai minden bűneinknek és a rákövetkező bünhődésnek?

A világ sorsának intézői olyanok, mint az egyszeri serdülő fiú, aki elkérte atyjától a kormánykereket. Dagadó kebellel vezette a kocsit mindaddig.mig nem várt akadály került utjukba azon a mellékuton, amire ráhajtott. Remegő kézzel adta át aztán a vezetést annak, akitől nagy magabizással elvette. így vagyunk mi is, egyes emberek, Isten gyermekei. Magunk akarunk az irányítók, a kormányosok lenni. Csak amikor bajba kerülünk, a rossz útra jutunk, akkor fordulunk csak Istenhez és csak akkor vagyunk hajlandók reá bízni magunkat. De hányán vannak, akik elkésnek! Te ne késs el, Testvér, hanem bizd idejében, bizd mindig Istenre magadat és sorsodat. Ö szívesen vezet.
