Mustafa Paşa and Sahn-ı Seman. He became cadi of Bursa and Istanbul (1535), was given the title of Rumeli kazaskeri (

kazasker of Rumelia) (1537) and became Şeyhülislâm in October 1545, holding this highest position during the period of Kanunî Sultan Süleyman (1520-1566) and Sultan Selim II (1566-1574) until his death. He is considered the most important Şeyhülislâm after KEMAL PAŞAZADE (d. 940/1534) and therefore he is also remembered as MUALUM-İ SANÎ.
