Şah u geda was written in 980/1572-1573 (62a), while the poet was on duty in the cavalry corps. İt presents a typical example of metaphorical love. With its descriptions of contemporary Istanbul, especially of the hippodrom (At meydanı; the present-day Sultan Ahmet meydanı) and the Hagia Sophia (Ayasofya), it shows originality. About twenty manuscript copies of Şah u geda exist in the libraries of Istanbul. The manuscript of the LHAS contains the complete text. 156
