of its mystical character, it belongs also to the most important examples of Old Turkey-Turkish (Eski Türkiye Türkçesi ) or Old Anatolian Turkish ( Eski Anadolu Türkçesi) by its linguistic features. Furthermore, from the perspective of language history, it is considered as an interesting document on the shadowy existence of the Turkish language at the time by account of the verse: "Türk diline kimsene bakmazıdı / Türklere gergiz gönül akmazıdı / Türk dahi bilmezidi ol dilleri / İnce yolı ol ulu menzilleri" . The work is also referred to as Divan-ı Aşık, Maarif-name or Genc-name in some sources. However, the title appears in a beyit within the work as follows: "Bu Garibname anun geldi dile / Kim bu dil ehli dahi ma'ni bile" (237a). Containing ten chapters (bab), the Garib-name consists of about 12,000 distichs. The most extensive treatise of one of the oldest documents of this epoch is the work of K. Y AVUZ (S . below). Moreover, the Türk Dil Kurumu published the original text of the Lâleli manuscript, registered in the Süleymaniye Library, in two volumes (Istanbul 2000).
