This version was translated (or reedited) by Kun-dga' 'od-zer for Dayiming Secen qayan = the Chahar ruler Ligdan. The source of the translation (re-edition?) was a print of Dayidu, the Yuan capital. This blockprint of 1708 was edited by Fu Dalai (Fu Hai) at Andingmen, the Gate of Security, of Peking, the Manchu capital. Cf. Heissig-Bawden, pp. 219-220 and Róna-Tas in Mongolian Studies ed. L. Ligeti in the Beijing Songzhusi's printing shop, probably in 1930; pothi, 268 ff., measures of f. 3a: 54.4 : 20.3 (49.5 : 14.5) cm. Text in double-lined frame printed in red and ornamented with a bordure of tendril meanders and lotus-petals on ff. la-2a. Two icons on the slightly damaged f. la: áákyamuni bhûmisparsa in the left box, Ânanda (kneeling, turning to the Buddha) in the right; their names appear in Chinese: Shijia fo, Annanda. Mongolian marginal title Üliger-ün dalai and pagination in the left "ear" of the frame, Chinese volume-marker wu (for the first syllable of the Mongolian title) and pagination in the right "ear". From f. 2b on: text printed in black, in double-lined black; recto has one "ear" on the left with the Chinese volume-marker, the Mongolian marginal title and Mongolian and Chinese pagination. No "ear" in the verso frame; Chinese pagination in the lower left corner, within the frame. 30 lines/recto, 31 lines/verso. 52 chapters (Jiiit) in 12 parts ( bölüg ). No distinction between medial c and j; diacriticals rarely used. Vertical aleph and nun finals appear here and there to fill the space at the end of lines. Title printed in black in double-lined frame on the yellow cover: O Eldeb üliger-ün dalai kemegdekü sudur orosiba • (6 lines) Inc. f. la: namó buddhay-a • namő dharmay-a • namő sangghay-a • Siluyun onol-tu kemegdekü sudur: terigiln bölüg • Eldeb üliger üjegülügsen jüil bolai • eyin kemen [2a] minu sonosuysan nigen cay-tur :, etc.; the chapter title repeats at the end (sometimes in a slightly different form); each chapter begins with the formula of oral tradition.
