62 And to reach this haven the most adequate way was the personal, confessional religious introspection exploring the depths of the human soul, the meditation and private worship, as originated from Augustine's works. This is why in this time, after about a half century of latency, the literature of meditation and prayers which had been very widespread in the Middle Ages became popular again, and it remained current for the next century. The very first publication of this resurrected genre is Lukács Pécsi 's collection of meditations, and it is not only worth taking into account as an important document of a significant trend of the history of ideas (and, at the same time, as a document of the reception of Augustine in Hungary), but the reader of our time will pay attention to the winged style, ornamented and savoury use of language of the book.
