The subject matter includes views in Kashmir, particularly Srinagar and Mohand Marg, including two portraits of an Indian man at Stein's camp, possibly Pandit Govind Kaul, who collaborated with Stein's scholarly activities in the 1890s (prints 52-53). Other material includes uncaptioned views of archaeological remains and an informal portrait of Stein wearing a pith helmet and civilian suit. The only captioned and/or dated prints are: 34.
