The author of the volume is György Rózsa, chartered librarian,Candidate of Economics, 1960— Director General of the Library of the Hungárián Academy of Sciences, meanwhile, from 1969—1975 Director of the United Nations Library in Geneva. He worked 1946-50 in the foreign service, from 1951 in the library field, and since 1954 with the Hungárián Academy of Sciences. His works: Sources and Handbooks of Economic Research (1959); Information Problems of Social Science Research and Organization of Research (1965); Scientific Information and Society (1972), this latter was published in English as well in 1973 at Mouton's (Paris-The Hague). Nearly 400 articles, studies and papers in Hungárián and other languages on the subjects of scientific information and organization of research (ref.: Könyvtári és Dokumentációs Szakirodalom, LISA, Bull.Sign. etc.). Worked as consultant commissioned by international organizations. He is chief editor of two specialized information reviews, participates in the work of Hungárián and international professional bodies. Professional awards: Special Medál of the International Council of Archives (1977), „Szabó Ervin" Memóriái Medál (1981).
