PREFACE The fourth volume of the catalogue of dissertations includes Items for which the scien•tlfic degrees "doctor of science" and "candidate of science" were granted the authors between January 1st 1966 and December 31st 1967. The fourth volume, as well, is the catalogue of the collection; it thus does not list dissertations submitted in printed form, or those missing, for one reason or another, In the collection of the Department of Manuscripts. The principles of edition and the arrangement of the material correspond with those of the previous volumes. The catalogue is made complete with an index of authors and opponents.
