Az Akadémia történetének ezt az időszakát már többen kutatták, s a kutatási eredményeket közzétették. A kiállítási anyag válogatásánál ezeket is szem előtt tartottuk. A most bemutatásra kerülő dokumentumok az MTA Könyvtára Kézirattára és Régikönyvek Gyűjteménye állományából valók, s a nagyközönségnek eddig még nem volt alkalma látni ezeket. A dokumentumokat Mázi Béla válogatta. A festmények, rajzok és sokszorosított grafikák nagy része az MTA Művészeti Gyűjteményéhez tartozik. Tizenkét grafikát a Magyar Nemzeti Múzeum Magyar Történelmi Képcsarnokából (MNM MTKcs) állítottunk ki. The manuscripts and printed documents, most of them shown to the public for the first time, have been chosen for display from the collections of the Department of Manuscripts and Rare Books of the Library of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences by Béla Mázi. Twelve drawings and lithographs are on loan from the Historical Art Collection of the Hungarian National Museum. Works of art marked with the national colours belong to the permanent exhibition of the Art Collection of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
