Müller Róbert: A kontinuitás kérdései Fenékpusztán
38 Müller Robert object types might refer to Byzantine influence from the Balkans. This mixed origin and composition can explain that the cemeteries of the early Keszthely culture slightly differ from each other. We know about smaller and larger clusters of graves from the fortress and its immediate vicinity which were used simultaneously with the large cemetery of hundreds of graves right in front of the southern fortress wall. The Roman continuity is also supported by scientific analysis. The strontium isotope studies indicate that the majority of the late antique population was of local origin, and only approximately 25% of it was immigrants. Based on the core drilling’s pollen diagram marked C14 Roman agriculture was continuously present in Fenékpuszta up to the middle of the 7th century.
