Muzeológiai tanulmányok - Mészáros Melinda: Egy Árpád-kori kemence Felsőpáhok határából

Egy Árpád-kori kemence Felsőpáhok határából 133 r An Arpádian Age oven near Felsőpáhok The site Felsőpáhok -Vida-gödör-dűlő III. - situated near the north-eastern border of Felsőpáhok - was excavated between 13-26 November 2008 prior to the construction works of the bypass road 76 round Hévíz and Alsópáhok. The excavation was carried out by István Eke, Zoltán Fullár, Melinda Mészáros, Péter Straub archaeologists and Renáta Császár technician. The explored surface - a small part of the whole site - was 3797 m2 where 11 pits and an oven were found. The pits belonged to prehistoric ages (Copper Age, Bronze Age) and the oven (feature Nr.5) to the Arpádian Age. The oval-shaped open-air oven was oriented east- west with its opening facing west. Its size was 125 x 144 cm. The sidewalls survived at a 40 cm height, the top was collapsed. The oven’s fill consisted of several layers. The baking surface was 125 x 132 cm and it was renewed once. The 372 x 215 cm foreground was elongated oval, narrowing towards the oven. It was 15-20 cm below the surface of the oven. In the oven and in its foreground ceramics, stones, animal bones and daub were found. The best analogies for the pots are from the 12th—13th century Fenék village. The analogies for the Arpádian Age outdoor oven are known from the western part of Transdanubia (Letenye- Korongi-tábla, Bak-Felrétbak, Nagykanizsa-Récsei út menti északi-dülő). Based on the analogies for the oven and the ceramics, the oven found at Felsőpáhok-Vida-gödör-dűlő III. can be dated to the second part of the Arpádian Age. Translated by Melinda Mészáros
