Péter Szabolcs is contemporary of the classical Hungarian avant-garde generation (Atlorjai, Jovánovics, Konkoly, Nádler, Méhes, Pauer, Szentjóby, etc.) His art career started in 1968-1970 at the same time of the legendary Iparterv-exhibitions on balatonboglár chapel-art exhibition.
