Kerekes László szerk.: Szentendre művészete (Keszthely, 1982)

Szentendre markierte seinen Platz durch die Ergebnisse der Malerei auf der Landkarte der bildende Kunst. Im Jahre 1928 machten die Mitglieder der Gesellschaft von Szentendre die Stadt ausfindig, deckten sie auf. Der in der damaligen Zeit noch als lebendige Kraft wirkende und erneute Möglichkeiten ahnen lassende Postimpressionismus lockte die Maler in diese Stadt. Die gegenwärtige Malerei von Szentendre charakterisiert keine Stilrichtung, keine einheitlich künstlerische Sichtweise einer bestimmten Schule. Den verschiedenartigsten Stilrichtungen folgende Künstler leben in dieser Stadt. Diese Ausstellung präsentiert sich ihren Besuchern mit ihren neusten Werken. Szentendre, this ancient town on the right bank of the Danube, obtained her place through the achievements of its painters on the map of Hungarian fine arts. Ihe was chosen as a suitable scene of artistic activity by the members of the Szentendre Painter's Society in 1928. These painters were attracted to Szentendre by impressionism, an artistic trend still acting as a living force at that time, offering ever new possiblities. Today 60 artist live and work at Szentendre, following diverse artistic trends, proving that the contemporary Szentendre art cannot be characterized by a certain identity of style, a common artistic approach attached to a school. This exhibition displays the most recent works of the Szentendre artists. Szentendre a obtenu sa place sur la carte des beaux-arts de la Hongrie à droit des résultats picturaux. C'est en 1928 que la ville fut découverte par les membres de la future Société des Peintres de Szentendre. Ils furent attirés à Szentendre par le postimpressionisme très vif en ce temps qui laissait prévoir des possibilités toujours plus neuves. Aujourd'hui près de 60 artistes vivent et travaillent dans la ville, suivants des tendences de style les plus différentes. C'est à dire l'art contemporain de Szentendre n'est point caractérisé par une certaine identité de style, par une manière unifbrme de vue artistique formant une école.
