VIRÁG-F1GLER 2007 = M. VIRÁG Zs.-FIGLER A.: Data on the settlement history of the Late Lengyel period of Transdanubia on the basis of two sites from Kisalföld (Small Hungarian Plain) (Preliminary evaluation of the sites Győr-Szabadrétdomb and Mosonszentmiklós-Pálmajor). In: The Lengyel, Polgár and related cultures in the Middle/Late Neolithic in Central Europe. The Polish Academy of Arts, Eötvös Lóránd University Budapest. Eds.: KOZLOWSKI, J. K. - RACZKY R Kraków 2007. 345-364. PÁPATESZÉR-ÁLLOMÁS-DŰLŐ NEOLITHIC SETTLEMENT Pápateszér-Állomásdűlő is an extended Late Neolithic/Early Copper Age settlement on the Northern fringes of the Bakony Mts. Its archaeological excavation became necessary in 2004 as part of a preventive excavation due to the construction of a gas pipeline. Consequently, the observed features are in a linear array (Fig. 2) and reflect only a sample of the settlement. Occasional finds from the Linearband Pottery Culture demonstrate that the settlement existed during the Middle Neolithic period as well, however all the settlement features identified belong to the Lengyel Culture (II and III phase). Pottery finds indicate that at least part of the settlement survived till the beginning of the Balaton-Lasinja culture. Lying close to the Bakony raw material sources, the lithic industry is abundant and characteristic. In view of our previous grouping, the site can be assigned to zone III with the dominant use of Bakony radiolarites together with Tevel flint, with more than the usual northernly elements among the radiolarites (i.e., Hárskút type radiolarite). 15
