Iharos Gyula: Újabb adatok a Bakony-hegység Tardigrada-faunájához (A Bakony-hegység Tardigrada-faunája, IV.)
New data to the Tardigrada-Fauna of the Bakony-Mountain (The Tardigrada-Fauna of the Bakony-Mountain, IV.) By way of introduction the author deals in his essay with the Tardigrada and with the history of the relative research work done the Bakony-Mountain. Then he acquaints us with the aims of his latest investigations which are: 1. collectiong the species in the surrounding of Gyenesdiás—Vonyarcvashegy (Keszthely-Mountain) ; 2. gathering information concerning the connections between the presence or absence of vegetation and the composition of the Tardigrrada-population; 3. a comparison of the Tardigfrada-species of the Balaton-shore, Pannonhalma and the Bakony with the conclusions that can be drawn thereof. From the area in question the author has examminden a total of 197 samples 30 of which have proved to be Tardigrada-species. lie gives data concerning density taken for individuals, the number of species of the populations found in certain localities and the change in the compositions of the populations according to the humidity content of the habitats. All these data are illustrated in graphs. Starting from the habitats uncovered by vegetation and proceeding towards more covered places the number of xerophil species gradually decreases while at the same time the number of hygrophil species abruptly increases. In the areas subjected to comparative examinations the water-bear population exhibits a mosaiclike repetition, a fact that corresponds to the habitats with similar ecological conditions which in like manner repeat themselves according to a mosaiclike pattern. The populations are not detached from each other sharply, they rather mix under the influence of external factors. The differences within populations are brought about by the different conditions of humidity. The altitude above the sea level can also be mentioned which makes itself felt as Tardigrada. well in the higher degree of variety of the species as in the specific cornpoiSition or the population. The so called „montane" species also occur. The author gives a tabular representation showing the strength of the Tardigrrada-population as a function of the closure of vegetation (Table 1). In a comparative list he gives the Tardigrada-species of the Balaton's northern shore — moulding the Tihany-peninsula —, of Pannonhalma and the Bakony-Mountain (Table 2). He encloses some illustrative drawinghon on the water-bears. The rock-moss samples of the researched area yielded eight Echirascws-specimens which can be considered as new varieties of the Echiniscus testudo. Their description is as follows. Echiniscus sp. Middle-sized; orange-red. Eye pigment red. Like that of the E. testudo, its sculpture consists of fine all over evenly distributed spots. The third lingplate is missig. The end plate has no treefoil indentations and no facets. For a 250 JU long animal the lengths of the lateral hooked coloa are as follows : for A (Cirrus lateralis) 70, for С 112, for D 105 and for E 187 /и. Б, has a 22 и long dorsal thorn. Thornwrinkle provided with pointed teeth and 6—8 spinules. The outer claws are unthorned and have no sidehooks. Its length is between 165 and 250 /u. Localities: Kesellő-Hill (Gyenesdiás), Vadleánybarlang (Gyenesdiás )and Vonyarcvashegy. Habitat: Rock-mosses. Echiniscus sp. has occurred in coenosis with the species E. testudo, Pseudechiniscus cornutus, Macrobiotus hufelandii, M. richtersi, Hypsibius oberhauseri and Milnesium tardigradum. Gyula Iharos 3. Сопоставление видов Tardigrada побережья Балатона, Паннонхалмы и Баконя и вытекающие отсюда выводы. С вышеупомянутых территорий автор собрал 197 образцов, относяпихся к 30 видам, Tardigrada. Им приводятся данные о густоте, о числе видов популяций, найденных в местах распространения, об изменении состава популяций в зависимости от влажности. Все это изображено в графике.
