Batári Ferenc: Keleti szőnyegek a 16–18. századi Magyarországon

The following were reported: in Csurgó, Somogy county, 'three carpets, one on the table, one on the preacher's chair, one on the armrest of the women's first chair;' in Nagyszokoly, Tolna county, 'a thick carpet from Turkey;' in Paks, 'a carpet made from fine coloured fur;' in Balatonhenye, Zala. county, 'the Lord's table covered with carpet, (as well as) a carpet on the Dean's chair,' and last, but not least, let us remember Szentgál, Veszprém county, 'the table was covered with green and blue mottled carpet.' Unfortunately, there carpets are no longer there. Nevertheless, the above quotes indicate that further systematic local research in the region may explore noteworthy archives on the history of oriental carpets. 65
