VARGA István - SÜVEGH Gábor - NAGYNÉ CZAKÓ Ilona: Egy későbronzkori kerámia komplett vizsgálata

The Mössbauer spectroscopic analysis revealed three different iron positions in the specimen. A doublet belonging to Fe/II/ in octahedral position, a Fe /III/ doublet, and a magnetically split component appeared in the room temperature spectrum /Fig. 1./ The Fe /II/ doublet can be attributed undoubtedly to Fe/II/ in clay mineral /illite/,while the magnetic component represents magnetite. The central Fe/III/ doublet is very much probably a superposition of several doublets with very similar Mössbauer parameters, which could not be separated even by computer. These components are as follows: octahedrally coordinated Fe/III/ in the clay, goethite of small particle size and hematite with small particles. This haematite formed probably by the partial thermal decomposition of goethite The Mössbauer spectrum of the reddish-brown phase of the ceramics showed that the Fe /II/ was partially oxidized to Fe/III/. Summary : Variouds methods, nemely Mössbauer spectroscopy, Laser emission spectroscopy, optical mineralogy, differential thermo analysis /DTA/ .Röntgen diffraction analysis have been applied to study a ceramics from the late Bronze age. We found, that the specimen had been fired between 400 and 500 *C and its black colour had been created by the carbon incorporated into the ceramics. JEGYZETEK 1.
