Károlyi Mária: A korai rézkor emlékei Vas megyében (Szombathely, 1992)

We presume that the Lasinja find collection of Körmend can be considered as one of the earliest ones among the early Lasinja materials found in Hungary. Here we must mention that the position of the early Lasinja settlement of Körmend cannot be by chance, since close to today's Körmend there was an important traversing place over the river Rába, which was so obviously known as early as in the prehistoric age that even the amber road built in the Roman ages was adjusted to it 40 . On mentioning the amber road now we must stop to make some remarks. I think, acknowledgements are due to the new trend in the English archaeology, which has refreshed and upset the way of thinking in science and in several research areas since the seventies. In their opinion till that time little attention was given by the researches of the prehistoric age to trade, which is a very significant part of the economic growth, and within certain regions it plays an important role in the cultural changes 41 . The promotion of the ancient trade's research is explained by the fact that the trade's objects and sources can be valued and statistically proved, indeed these proceedings become easier and easier, since our technical knowledges are continuously developing in identifying of materials and in exploring of the raw material sources. Naturally they point out - the trade must be interpreted in the broadest sense of the word, which meant mutual turnover, circulation and exchanges of materials among the human communities. In an interesting way the research of the prehistoric trade had been an important area in researches already of the early archaeology, and for instance, in our area, in County Vas, already at the beginning of the century the local archaeological researches of prehistory had significant results by making a chemical analysis of the bronze materials found at the site of Velemszentvid 42 . On the basis of these examinations researchers tried to determine the geographical circle in which the bronze works of the settlement Velemszentvid circulated and from where probably materials got to the settlement in exchange 43 . Since the eighties the research of the prehistoric trade has been given an impulse in the Eastern part of Europe, to which we could also join. After the upswing of the Neolithic age's local researches we could make further interesting observations by uncovering the relations of the settlement Se. First of all the evaluation of the flint implements found at Se - as a part of a comparative, largescale analysis of Hungarian prehistoric lithic raw materials - resulted in remarkable observations 44 . Already in the last century researches noticed and established that in the prehistoric settlements of County Vas there are no means made of obsidian to be found 45 . 91
