A kérdéses funkciójú körte alakú és átégett falú gödrök szerepét pedig a további feltárások és megfigyelések segíthetnek tisztázni. Traces of the iron works of the Sarmat tribe, arheological site: Üllő 5 (Pest county) At the junction of the MO motorway and the section of Road 4 bypassing Vecsés and Üllő, a team of archeologists performed a preliminary recovery act on more than 30 hectares, which was followed by further excavations related to large investment projects. The specialty of this area is that it used to be inhabited by Sarmat tribe potters who specialized in the manufacturing of fireproof cooking pots. During the 3rd century metalwork related activities were also pursued at the Sarmat settlement living in Ü11Ő. Offering evidence to this are the iron slags unearthed at various points of the site as well as the objects presented in the study which can be tied to iron melting and iron processing. According to the authors, object 6512. is the remains of a blacksmith workshop from the Sarmat age.
