Radchenko, G. Alexander: The ant fauna of Őrség, Western Hungary (Hymenoptera: Formicidae)

SA VARIA, 24/2 (Pars historico-naturalis) It is necessary to emphasize, that the richness of the ant fauna related with the system of agricultural management: large part of the territory is not used as plough-land and meadows are used not as pastures but for haymaking. It puts minimum damage onto ecosystems, and in series of cases, even promotes the increasing of species diversity. The results follows to emphasize, that the ant fauna of Őrség is very reach, diverse, and unique and, thus, needs protection. With this purpose creation of a National Park in this region might preserve the biodiversity. LITERATURE GALLÉ, L.
