1 Hepatics and mosses of Órség (Western Hungary) on the basis of the Herbarium Bryophytorum of the Hungarian Natural History Museum — A list is given below about hepatics and mosses of Orség on the basis of Herbarium Bryophytorum of the Hungarian Natural History Museum (Budapest). The present list is derived from an on line database, which contains the herbarial specimens of county Vas, which Orség belongs to. There are 1622 records (421 hepatics and 1201 mosses) from Őrség in the database. The research on bryophytes of the territory began in the early 1930s. Among the first collectors Géza ÉüER, László VAJDA, Ádám BOROS, Aladár VlSNYA, Gyula GÁYER, Sándor JÁVORKA can be mentioned. Many data came from the herbarium of Ádám BOROS, which amounts the 35 per cent of the Herbarium Bryophytorum of the Hungarian Natural History Museum. The scientific names of taxa are given according to DULL (1983, 1984, 1985). To determine the Hungarian distribution of the bryophytes ORBÁN and VAJDA (1983) was used. From the territory of Őrség 55 hepatic and 158 moss taxa (within it 16 Sphagnum taxa) were found in our Herbarium. More than 20 per cent of the bryophyte taxa are rare or very rare in Hungary. The imique, very rare and raie taxa are given in the Hungarian text, respectively. BEVEZETÉS Jelen munka az Őrség területén gyújtott azon mohák listája, melyek a Magyar Természettudományi Múzeum (Budapest) Növénytára moha-herbáriumában találhatók. A gyűjtemény alapján létrehoztunk egy Vas megye moha-adatbázist. Ebből válogattuk le az őrségi adatokat, 1622 rekordot (421 májmoha és 1201 lombosmoha), amelyek alapján e lista készült. Az Őrség területéről 55 májmoha és 158 lombosmoha taxon (ez utóbbiból 16 Sphagnum) került elő a gyűjtemény alapján.
