SA VARIA, 23/2 (Pars historico-naturalis) CLASSIFICATION At present the definition of Chrysomelidae is controversial and there is no consensus on the internal classification of the family. Based on a cladistic analysis new phylogeny of the subfamilies assigned traditionally to Chrysomelidae and Bruchidae was recently proposed (REID, 1995). The arrangement of Chrysomelidae (including Bruchidae) greatly differs from the traditional system.
