SA VARIA, 23/2 (Pars historico-naturalis) Triplax pygmaea Kraatz, 1871 — Kondorfa, 14.03.1982, PA (1, HNHM). — It is one of the rarest species of the family in Hungary. Further Hungarian localities (Fig. 2.): Bátorliget (ET99); Budakeszi (CT46); Budapest: János-hegy (CT46); Gödöllő (CT77); Isaszeg (CT76); Pécs: Misina-tető (BS80); Siófok (unreliable) (BS79). Triplax russica (Linnaeus, 1758) — Szalafő: Felsőszer, 05.02.-10.07.1982, RI (1, pcIR). — It is quite frequent on fungusy logs in the forested regions of Hungary. BYTURIDAE Byturus ochraceus (Scriba, 1790) —- Bajánsenye, 09.07.1986, PA (1, SM); Felsőmarác: Himfai-parkerdő, 03.05.1986, PA (1, SM); Hegy hátszentjakab: Vadása-tó, 30.05.1982, 02.05.1986, PA (1, SM); 28.05.1983, RI (1, pcIR); Orfalu, 18.06.1994, VK (1, SM); Orfalu: Dolányi út, 08.05.1993, VK (1, SM); Szalafő, 29.05.1982, PA (1, SM); Szőce, 01-02.05.1986, PA (1, SM); 20.06.1993, RI (1, pcIR). — It is frequent on yellow flowers in the forested regions of Hungary. Byturus tomentosus (De Geer, 1774) — Szakonyfalu: Grajka-patak völgye, 24.06.1994, VK (2, SM). — It is much less frequent than the previous species and restricted to the cooler and more humid mountains and hills of Hungary. It prefers white flowers. CERYLONIDAE Cerylon fagi C. Brisout de Barbeville, 1867 — Szőce, 19-20.04.1987, PA (1, SM); 31.05.1987, SzGy (2, HNHM). — It is not uncommon under bark in the hilly and mountainous forests of Hungary. Cerylon histeroides (Fabricius, 1792) — Csörötnek: Apátsági-erdő [2], 05.07.1985, SzD (1, SM); Farkasfa: Fekete-tó, 11.04.1982, PA (1, SM); 12.04.1982, RI (1, pcIR); Kondorfa, 10.04.1982, RI (1, pcIR); 21.08.1984, PA (1, SM); Kondorfa: Huszászi-patak völgye, 22.08.1980, RI-RA (1, pcIR); Kondorfa: Sasos, 04.05.-30.06.1980, Rí (1, pcIR); Szalafő: Borjas-erdő, 03.05.1985, Rí (5, pcIR); Szalafő: Felsőszer, 10.04.1982, Rí (1, pcIR); Viszák, 19.04.1987, Rí (1, pcIR). — Inhabiting subcortical space and leaf litter, it is widely distributed and common in forests all over Hungary. Cerylon ferrugineum Stephens, 1830 — Farkasfa, 12.04.1982, PA (1, SM); Farkasfa: Fekete-tó, 12.04.1982, RI (1, pcIR); Kondorfa, 14.03.1982, PA (1, SM). — It is found usually along with the previous species but somewhat rarer. ENDOMYCHIDAE Mycetaea subterranea (Fabricius, 1801) — Szalafő: Felsőszer, 11.06.1985, SzD (4, HNHM), (1, pcSzD). — It is frequent under mouldy hay and straw as well as in debris accumulated in stables. 129
