SA VARIA, 23/2 (Pars historico-naturalis) NOSODENDRIDAE Nosodendron fascicutare (Olivier, 1790) — Csörötnek, 22.05.1983, SzD (11, SM), (2, pcSzD); Máriaújfalu, 22.05.1983, PA (2, SM). — It is found around wounds of deciduous trees (mostly willow and oak, rarely alder). Sluggish and having cryptic colour, the adults are very hard to spot among the parts of the bark soaked in the fermenting sap even though they are usually gregarious. BOSTRICHIDAE Bostrichus capucinus (Linnaeus, 1758) — Csörötnek: Huszászi-patak völ­gye, 21.05.1983, SzD (4, SM); 21.05.1983, RI (1, pcIR); Farkasfa: Fekete-tó, 22.05.1983, Rí (2, pcIR). — It is frequent in freshly felled logs of oak, beech and hornbeam. ANOBIIDAE Dryophiius pusillus (GyHernial, 1808) — Szakonyfalu [2], 16.05.1979, MO (1, HNHM). — It is not uncommon on branches of Norway spruce. Ernobius abietis (Fabricius, 1792) — Kondorfa [2], 20.10.1981, PA (2, HNHM); Szalafő: Felsőszer, 10.04.1982, RI (1, pcIR). — Developing in cones, it prefers spruce stands. It is quite frequent in Hungary. Ernobius angusticollis (Ratzeburg, 1847) — Magyarszombatfa, 15.06.1980, PA (2, HNHM). — In Hungary, it is a rare species of coniferous forests. Apart from the above locality it is known only from Makkoshotyka (XM07) and Pinnye (XN37) (Fig. 4.). Ernobius longicornis (Sturm, 1837) — Csörötnek: Huszászi-patak völgye, 21.05.1983, RI (1, pcIR); Farkasfa: Fekete-tó, 22.05.1983, PA (1, HNHM); 22.05.1983, RI (1, pcIR); Hegyhátszentjakab: Vadása-tó, 03.05.1982, PA (1, HNHM); Orfalu, 26.05.1983, PA (1, HNHM); Szalafo, 21-28.05.1983, PA (3, HNHM); 21-28.05.1983, RI (1, pcIR). — It is widely distributed but uncommon on conifers (mainly on Pinus, rarely on Picea). Ernobius moilis (Linnaeus, 1758) — Orfalu, 26.05.1983, PA (2, SM), (1, HNHM). — It is the most common species of Ernobius, frequent in coniferous forests. Sometimes attacks timber and furniture. Gastrallus laevigatus (Olivier, 1790) — Szalafo, 08.07.1986, PA (1, SM). — Not uncommon, it is beaten from dry branches of deciduous trees. Hemicoelus fulvicornis (Sturm, 1837) — Szalafo, 20.08.1984, PA (1, SM). — It is frequently beaten from dry branches of deciduous trees. Hemicoelus rufipennis (Duftschmid, 1825) — Csörötnek: Huszászi-patak völgye, 21.05.1983, RI (2, pcIR); Felsőszölnök: Szölnöki-erdő, 28.06.1993, SzD (4, SM); Hegyhátszentjakab: Vadása-tó, 28.05.1983, PA (3, HNHM); Őriszentpé ter: Bárkás-tó, 23.05.1983, PA (1, HNHM). — Quite frequent in Hungary, it is regularly beaten from dead branches of deciduous trees (mainly beech and hornbeam). 121
