NAGY F., SZÉL GY. és VÍG K.: Vas megye futóbogár-faunája (Col.: Carabidae) This enumeration includes 36 species whose occurrence in Vas County is previously unpublished: Cicindela soluta pannonica, Dyschirius salinus, Thalassophilus longicornis, Bembidion decoratum, B. pygmaeum, Pogonus transfuga peisonis, Pterostichus gracilis, Agonum afrum, A. lugens, A. permoestum, A. scitulum, Calathus ambiguus, C. cinctus, Laemostenus terricola, Amara chaudoiri incognita, A. crenata, A. cursitans, A. gebleri, A. saphyrea, A. tibialis, Parophonus dejeani, Harpalus caspius, H. fuscicornis, H. honestus, H. pumilus, Acupalpus suturalis, Chlaenius festivus, C. spoliatus C. tristis, Oodes gracilis, Badister dilatatus, B. sodalis, Microlestes Schweden, Odacantha melanura, Demetrias imperialis and Calodromius spilotus. Data on the ground beetle fauna of Vas County came first from the Kőszeg Hills: Alfonz FREH published the occurrence of 83 species in Kőszeg. Later data from the Kőszeg Hills was published by Dezső KUTHY (1897), Jenő VANGEL (1906) and Ernő CSÍKI (1905-1908). In 1937, Zoltán KASZAB published his Compendium of the beetle fauna of the Kőszeg Hills, which was the first study to cover the findings of regular faunistic surveys and earlier known data. Ernő CSIKI'S 1941 work published 60 new ground beetle species. Sándor HORVATOVICH (1992) contains data on ground beetles collected mainly under the Natural History of Praenoricum research programme. There are several data for the Kőszeg Hills in Gábor HEGYESS Y and Győző SZÉL' s 2002 study The beetle collection of the Mátra Museum, Carabidae (Coleoptera), mainly from collections by Attila PODLUSSÁNY. The ground beetle fauna of the Kőszeg Hills is determined by the proximity of the Alps and climatic factors unique in Hungary, so that upland species principally occur. Also occurring are a few Carabus species of which the Kőszeg Hills are the typical and almost exclusive habitat in this country, apart for some possible data from the Sopron Hills: Carabus auronitens kraussi, C. irregularis cephalotes, C. linnei transdanubialis, Pterostichus fasciatopunctatus, P. subsinuatus, P. unctulatus, Trkhotichnus laevicollis. Other rare species occurring in the Kőszeg Hills are as follows: Carabus arcensis austriae, C. nodulosus, C. problematicus, Leistus piceus piceus, Blethisa multipunctata, Dyschirius rufipes, Bembidion fluviatile, B. guttula, B. monticola, В. stephensii, Patrobus styriacus, Poecilus lepidus, Pterostichus rhaeticus, P. transversalis, Molops piceus austriacus, Olisthopus rotundatus, Agonum gracile, Platynus scrobiculatus, Amara cursitans, A. curta, A. fulvipes, A. lunicollis, A. montivaga, A. municipalis, Harpalus laevipes, H. marginellus, Acupalpus suturalis, Licinus hoffmannseggii, Lebia marginata and Dromius fenestratus. Data on the ground beetle fauna of the Őrség were first published by SÁNDOR HORVATOVICH (1979, 1980a, 1981, 1982, 1992), the publications containing altogether 98 Őrség species. In 1996 came the publication Data on the ground beetle fauna (Coleoptera: Carabidae) of the Őrség Landscape Conservation Area by Győző SZÉL and Gábor HEGYESSY, which brought the number of species known to occur in the Őrség to 197. Many occurrences in the Őrség are reported in Gábor HEGYESSY and Győző SZÉL'S 2002 study The beetle collection of the Mátra Museum, Carabidae (Coleoptera), mainly from collections by Attila PODLUSSÁNY. Further items were added to the list of Őrség species by monitoring surveys in the Bajánsenye district (SZÉL 2001). The rare ground beetle species of the Őrség and Vendvidék (excluding data along the Rába) are as follows: Carabus arcensis austriae, C. nodulosus, Leistus piceus piceus, Notiophilus germinyi, Dyschirius digitatus, Bembidion doris, B. guttula, B. illigeri, B. lunatum, B. obtuswn, B. pygmaeum, B. stephensii, Patrobus styriacus, Poecilus lepidus, Pterostichus rhaeticus, P. transversalis, Ago6
