Práenorica Folia historico-naturalia, V (2002) Distribution in the Carpathian Basin: Distributed in the mountains of Transsylvania (Romania), feeding on Cirsium and Carduus species. General distribution: Southern ranges of the Alps, Slovenia, Romania (Transsylvania), Bulgaria (Stara Planina Range, Vithosa Mt.). Remarks: To differentiate subspecific forms of C. rufa complex the only available characters are the shapes of the pronotum and the aedeagus (Fig. 9). Three male specimens of C. rufa crassicollis (Suffrian) were investigated: the shape of the pronotum and the aedeagus are figured (Fig. 8). Fig. 8. a-c.
