Distribution in the Carpathian Basin: Not rare on the plains and hilly dis­tricts. It feeds on various Plantago species. General distribution: Mid, South and Southeastern Europe, Caucasus, Western Siberia. Chrysolina marcasitica turgida (Weise, 1882) ROMANIA — Hargita [=Hargita county]: Borszék [=Borsec] (1000 m), 14.VII.1985, PA; Gyilkos-tó [=Lacu Rosu], 13-14.VII.1985, PA [3]; Szilágy [=Sälaj county]: Meszes [Munjii Mezes], 20.VI.1969, TA; Zilah [=Zaläu], 7.VI.1971, ТА. SLOVAKIA — Banská Bystrica okres: Alacsony-Tátra [=Nízke Tatry], Donovaly, 18-23.VIII.1985, PA [6]. Distribution in the Carpathian Basin: Sporadically distributed in the Car­pathians on Aegopodium. In the recent territory of Hungary it is known to occur in the Torna Karst. General distribution: Sudeten, Carpathians and - according to BECHYNÉ (1950) - Banat and Moldavia.
