Distribution in the Carpathian Basin: Very rare in the Carpathian Basin, its known old localities are Kalocsa, Jászó and Pécs. Recently it was also reported from Mátra Mts. (Sár Mt.) (VIG 1998a). General distribution: Croatia along the Dalmatian seashore, Italy, Hungary, Balkan Peninsula. Cryptocephalus hypochaeridis (Linneaus, 1758) HUNGARY — Pest county: Budapest: Hármashatár-hegy, 26. Distribution in the Carpathian Basin: The exact distribution is not known, but according to LEONARDI & SASSI (2001) it occurs west- and northwards from the axis of the Lake Balaton. General distribution: Northern and Central Europe from Slovakia to slopes of French Pyrenees, Western part of the Balkan Peninsula. Distribution in the Carpathian Basin: Distributed in the lower hilly districts but uncommon. Its food plant are Quercus and Corylus species. General distribution: South and Southeastern Europe, Asia Minor.
