Distribution in the Carpathian Basin: Distributed all over the basin but uncommon. It's food plants are Pinus silvestris L. and P. nigra Arn. General distribution: Western, Northen and Mid Europe. Remarks: On the basis of our recent morphological knowledge, female species of Luperus flavipes (Linnaeus) and L. luperus (Sulzer) can not be separated from each other. The distinguishing characters given by KASZAB (1962b) were the coloration of the joints of the antennae. This character is highly variable and, consequently, there are many transitional forms. 102
