Distribution in the Carpathian Basin: Distributed all over the basin but un­common. It's food plants are Pinus silvestris L. and P. nigra Arn. General distribution: Western, Northen and Mid Europe. Luperus spp. HUNGARY — Heves county: Mátra, Galyatető, 16.VI.1961, RI; Vas county: Kőszegi-hg., Bozsok: Irottkö, 28.VI.1980, PA [2]; Kőszeg: Stájerházak, 28.VI.1980, PA; Zala county: Keszthelyi-hg., Várvölgy, 21.V.1979, PA. Remarks: On the basis of our recent morphological knowledge, female spe­cies of Luperus flavipes (Linnaeus) and L. luperus (Sulzer) can not be separated from each other. The distinguishing characters given by KASZAB (1962b) were the coloration of the joints of the antennae. This character is highly variable and, conse­quently, there are many transitional forms. 102
