The flora of vascular plants will also change. If moving or grazing terminates, tall grasses like Dactylis glomerata and Arrhenatherum elatius will become dominant. Later, the area will gradually turn into scrub and after decades into wood. During the scrub phase many of the characteristic fungi still occur, particularly on naked soil under deciduous scrubs like Alnus spp., Tilia spp., Prunus spinosa etc. Application of fertilizers will completely change the flora and funga in favor of more nitrophilous species. 171
