Az Alpokalja természeti képe közlemények 10. (Praenorica - Folia historico-naturalia Szombathely, 2008)
135 species for the Kőszeg Hills in Gábor HEGYESSY'S 1992 study Cerambycidae of the Praenoricum I. In 1994 published Tibor Kovács his The beetle collection of the Mátra Museum, Cerambycidae (Coleoptera), mainly from collections by Attila PODLUSSÁNY. The long-horned beetle fauna of the Kőszeg Hills is determined by the proximity of the Alps and climatic factors unique in Hungary, so that upland species principally occur: Ergates faber, Oxymirus cursor, Pachyta quadrimaculata, Carilia virginea, Cortodera femorata, Anastrangalia dubia, Lepturobosca virens, Pedostrangalia revestita, Etorufus pubescens, Tetropium fuscum, T. gabrieli, Anisarthron barbipes, Arhopalus ferus, Saphanus piceus, Ropalopus femoratus, Semanotus undatus, Callidium aenea, Clytus lama, Monochamus saltuarius, M. sartor sartor, M. sutor, Herophila tristis, Pogonocherus ovatus, Saperda similis. Other rare species occurring in the Kőszeg Hills are as follows: Rhamnusium bicolor, Obrium cantharinum, Nathrius brevipennis, Poecilium glabratum, P. pusillus, Clytus tropicus, Deroplia genei and Agapanthia intermedia. Data on the long-horned beetle fauna of the Őrség were first published by Sándor HORVATOVICH (1980, 1981), the publications containing altogether 3 Őrség species. In 1992 came the publication Cerambycidae of the Praenoricum I. by Gábor HEGYESSY, which brought the number of species known to occur in the Őrség to 59. Many occurrences in the Őrség are reported in Tibor KOVÁCS and Gábor HEGYESSY'S 1992 study New and rare species in Hungary's cerambycid fauna (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae). Further items were added to the list of Őrség species by Tibor KovÁCS's 1994 publication The beetle collection of the Mátra Museum, Cerambycidae (Coleoptera), mainly from collections by Attila PODLUSSÁNY. In 1996 Gábor HEGYESSY and Tibor KOVÁCS summarized all available data on cerambycids of Őrség reporting the occurrences of 94 species. The rare long-horned beetle species of the Őrség and Vendvidék are as follows: Ergates faber, Stictoleptura scutellata, Anastrangalia dubia, Tetropium castaneum, T. gabrieli, Semanotus undatus, Monochamus sutor, Deilus fugax, Pronocera angusta, Callidium aenea, Pogonocherus decoratus, P. ovatus, Oplosia cinerea, Menesia bipunctata and Oberea pedemontana. The Vas Hills are bounded by the Kőszeg Hills to the north, the frontier to the west, the Rába to the south and the Vas Valley to the east. Earlier, Gábor HEGYESSY (1992) published occurrences of 25 long-horned beetle species in the district. Some other data are included in a later publication (HEGYESSY et al. 1999). Systematic long-horned beetle collection has done in several parts of the Vas Hills in the last decade by Ferenc NAGY. Recent researches has been accomplished at Nárai, Pornóapáti, Horvátlövő, Vaskeresztes, Felsőcsatár, Narda, findings of these were published in 2002. The rare species of the Vas Hills are these: Ergates faber, Pachyta quadrimaculata, Anastrangalia dubia, Nathrius brevipennis, Ropalopus femoratus, Semanotus russicus, S. undatus, Callidium aenea, Poecilium glabratum, Menesia bipunctata, Oberea pedemontana, Agapanthia intermedia. The Vas Ridge (Kemeneshát) and Kemenesalja lie in the south-east of Vas County in a zone 15-20 km wide and 45-50 km long, between the Rába and Marcal rivers. It is bounded to the north-west by the broad, marshy, filled valley of the Rába, from which a steep lip rises, to slope gently down to the valley of the Marcal. The northern part is the Vas Ridge (Kemeneshát), a plateau remaining from the former gravel cover of the Rába, rising up about 20-40 metres. The southern part is the low, undulating marsh of the left bank of the Marcal, in
