107 the square slab has been conserved, and even this broken to several pieces. A simply framed surface, with deepened square. 7. Sepulchral monument of Sextus Uttidius C e 1 e r. (IV.) Inscription: see Hungárián text. Limestone. Height: 215 cms. Breadth: 85 cms. Thickness: 25 cms. Age: I. Century. The monument is a rectangle, composed cf seven pieces, the largest bottom part is filled by an inscribed Square, framed and deepened. Both sides are adorned by flower-ornaments. From the tympanon the shield is separated by a frieze, in which dolphins are to bee seen. In the tympanon a Medusa-head, and two serpents turning to each other. Upon the summit two lions were lying, one on each side, looking outward, with a ram's head between their feet; but omly one of them has been conserved. Upon the stone traces of fire are visible. 8. Sepulchral monument of Utiedia. (V-) Inscription: see Hungárián text. Height: 200 cms. Breadth: 75 cms. Thickness: 25 cms. This monument, composed of seven pieces, is complete. Its shape is a rectangle; the lower part is förmed by a framed and inscribed square, above which in a niche, bordered by two pilasters, the busts of two women, mother and daughter, are to bee seen, two dolphins separate this part from the summit. In the tympanon, between two birds, a Medusa-head. Above the summit two dolphins, in two triangles. — Age I. Century. 9. Sepulchral monument of Q. Cavius Probus. (VI.) Inscription: see Hungárián text. Sandstone. Height: 125 cms. Breadth: 85 cms. Thickness: 24 cms. This monument is broken in four pieces, and is in a rather bad State. In the summit between two birds a Medusa-head, in the triangles outside the summit dolphins. The space covered wilh the inscription is bordered, on both sides there are some flower-ornaments. 10. Fragment of a grave-stone. (Vit.) Inscription: . see Hungárián text. Sandstone. Height: 136 cms. Breadth: 90 cms. Thickness: 31 cms. The rectangular stone is broken into six pieces. A.t the bottcn we see a flower-ornament. Over this the space with the inscription, bordered by two twisted columns, at the top again ilower-ornaments. Above the projecting cornice there are two busts, also bordered by twisted columns. The backgrcund of the busts was painted red. The top part of the monument is missing altogether. Age perhaps II. Century. 11. Gravestone of Damanaeus. (VIII) Inscription: see Hungárián text. Only the inscribed part of the monument has been conserved, and even this broken in 4 pieces. — Sandstone. Height: 110 cms. Breadth: 88 cms. Thickness: 22 cms. Age: II. Century.
