NÉPRAJZ - Bartha Elek: Hitélet a görög katolikus lakóházban

Elek Bartha: Religious Life in Greek Catholic Homes As it is suggested by the title, the dwelling house of a family played an important role in religious life. It was not merely the location of certain types of religious activities, although even that function was important. The dwelling house has a characteristic spatial dynamism in religious life, and in this respect it is similar to buildings with a sacral function. It is a venue, an enclosed facility for performing religious services on special, unique occasions. It is a ritual space for community and private worship, for the daily routines of religion. The sacral objects placed in the house belong to the religious layers of aesthetics. The dwelling house is the object and purpose of apotropeic and paraliturgical rituals. The dwelling house became a factor shaping the celebration and the cult during the remembrance to Epiphania.
