RÉGÉSZET - Pálóczi Horváth András: Az alföldi későközépkori lakóházak: vázszerkezetek és falazatok
In the mediaeval village brick was the building material primarily of the churches. We have archeological evidence of one single brick dwelling house (Decs-Ete). In the northern part of the area between the Danube and the Tisza, the manor of a nobleman was found (Tura). The manor was constructed in the 13 th century. Houses with mud walls but without a framework of piles are equally rare among our findings (5 buildings, 2,6%), which suggests that cob walls and adobe bricks were not very wide-spread in those days. In the present study we do not deal with the roofing, the ground layout and heating of the houses. Archeological data related to these features were not disregarded though, and an analysis of the findings will be published in a future essay.
